You will find a lot of boat in a small package in this 2001 Coastal. Everything you need for a good day or two of fishing is waiting for you here.
The cockpit is bolstered for comfortable fishing in all conditions and self bailing when its not so great. A fold down rear seat is across the transom. The aggressive non skid will keep the crew upright. Back aft,through the transom door, an integrated swim platform has a heavy duty dive ladder. There is a fresh water shower on the platform. All deck hardware is stainless for ease of maintenance and durability. Forward, the anchor rests on the integrated bow pulpit. A large port side, built in cooler, doubles as cockpit seating with cushion in place. A full enclosure protects the helm area and a bimini keeps the cockpit shady. Good lighting will aid night fishing. Numerous drink holders ring the cockpit. There are salt and fresh water washdowns.
For fishing, a 22 gallon live well is built in just aft of the helm seat. Storage is found under helm. With the cushion in place, it is a cockpit seat. Two insulated fish boxes with macerator overboard discharge are in the deck. Four vertical rod holders are in the cap rail, with four more on the side rails. Horizontal storage for 6 extra rods is found port and starboard.
The helm is simple and well laid out. VDO gauges monitor speed and engine RPM. There is a Danforth compass, Garmin 182C chart plotter and Garmin 320C fishfinder. A Sitex VHF provides communications. A full array of 12 Volt toggle switches are within easy reach of the helm seat, with removeable cushions. A single lever control with trim and tilt built in, and hydrauli steering to keep the big Merc in line. Bennet trim tabs will compensate for you catch on the way home.
Down below, ample storage and good accomodations will make weekending possible. A V berth forward and seating for 4 at the removeable table. Cop holders and shelveing ring the dinette. A sink and hide away butane stove make food preparation a possibility. An overhead hatch and several opening ports all have screens. A vacu-flush marine head is also below.
Power is provided by a dependable Mercury Optimax 225 HP outboard. With 150 gallons of fuel, you will have good range without worrying about fuel stops. Hydraulic steering will make for an easy day at the helm. Dual batteries with selector switch.
