An outstanding example of the classic Bertram 46 Sportfisherman, 'Island Girl' was completely overhauled and restored in 2000. The overhaul included a major rebuilding of the Detroit 8V71 engines (now with only 822 hours since rebuild), almost new paint job, 90% rewiring, rebuild/reconfiguration of the salon, the galley, the heads AND the staterooms! As a result, what you are looking at should really be considered a year 2000 boat, not a 1973! The owner runs a yacht-customization business, which explains the splendid finish and workmanship of such things as SOLID teak 6 panel doors throughout the interior, the custom entertainment center, and many other features. Please have a look at the photos to get an idea of the standard of this quality listing, and there are LOTS of additional (and some quite technical!) photos that are available on request. And if all this is not enough, since the owner IS a custom yacht fitter, additional custom alterations/updates can certainly made part of any offer package and there is likely to be some price flexibility too, so don't hesitate to schedule a visit to view and discuss any alterations you might require!
UPDATE: The temporary cockpit tackle console has been removed, and the overhead cockpit lighting has been replaced (see photos). NOTE: The price has recently been significantly reduced. THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER PRICE REDUCTIONS CONSIDERED! If you are thinking of hauling the boat long distance, forget it, as this boat is too large to be trucked, and must be sailed to its destination.
