1983 42 Feet Pearson 422 center cockpit

The yacht name is FUN TIME. It is a 42'2" Pearson 422 built in 1983 and is hull #1 of the center cockpit version of the 424. The center cockpit is unique in that it has a folding opening to ease entering of exiting. Aft of the center cockpit is a large lazette and back deck which permits access to the davits which hold the dinghy. The Davis are reinforced Edsons. As opposed to most vessels of it's size, the boom is restrained by a boom gallows to prevent the boom from swinging when the main sail is not in use. The bow has an extended sprite for holding a CQR anchor and secondary Danforth anchor. A wide walkway is provided on the port and starboard sides for easy access to the bow or stern. The cabin is well ventilated. There are 4 large opening Bomar Hatches and 15 opening port lights. All ventilation openings are screened. Although the yacht was manufactured in 1983, it's age is not obvious since it has been used primarily in fresh water. It has been hauled each winter to allow the hull to dissipate any water absorption during the in the water summer season. The Aft cabin has a queen sized spring mattres with access on both sides to allow storage passage and changing of linen. Storage is every where and this yacht is well equipped for extended cruising. The bow has a large "V" bunk,overhead hatch and two opening ports and a door closure for privacy.A second head is accessable from the main saloon and "V" bunk. The sides of the cabin are lined with mahogony and the deck is teak and holly. Access to the engine is from a walk-in enclosure from the aft state room, removable stairs enable access to the transmission and hot water heater.
