The classic catboats, recognized as one of the true American boats, have been around for a long time as a workboat, cruiser, daysailer and racer. Recently they have experienced a resurgence of interest due to their stability, ease of handling and excellent sailing characteristics. The “Family Cat,” designed by William Gardner N.A.M.E. along the theme of the classic Cape Cod catboats, was built with beautiful workmanship by Bill Boyd Boats, Victoria, B.C. Note the unbelievable internal space and deck room for a 23’ hull. Three large seat lockers are in the self-bailing cockpit which will easily seat 8 in comfort for day sailing.
