Its size enables it for a small group of divers (4 6) with their equipment. It forms a robust, stable and seaworthy platform the designs are well known for that. The catamaran (design by James Wharram) was purchased by its present owner in October 2004. She was at that moment in a good shape but the present owner wanted to enlarge her in order to use her not only for sea-sailing but also as a diving platform. Using the advice and the design of James Wharram it was decided to broaden her with 70 cm and have a central deck pod/cabin which would provide more sleeping and living space, a proper chart table and a space where a dive compressor and dive equipment could be installed and used. During this operation the outside of the whole catamaran was stripped of any paint and epoxy. Where the wood was not in 100% shape it was replaced. A new paint system was put on her using glass and epoxy for both the hulls, the decks, the hatches and the cabins. 6 New crossbeams and a new central deck pod were constructed according to the design of James Wharram. Here not only glass and epoxy were used but also extensive carbon in order to provide extra strength without adding weight. Nets fore and aft were renewed and also the whole running rig. All windows in hulls and cabins (totaling 24) were constructed to measure in stainless steel and opening not a cheap solution but important in a hot climate!! Important features of this cat: Whole paint- and epoxy system renewed. Where necessary old plywood replaced. Perkins Diesel with a retractable Z-drive. Can be made steerable for maneuvering purposes All Windows and Portholes (Seitenfenster) stainless steel and opening Central Deck pod / pilothouse with navigation table, double berth and space for diving equipment, compressor etc. Sleeps 5 comfortably.
