One owner Yacht purchased new at Ft. Lauderdale boat show. Hard top w/AC. Aft-deck enclosure. Interior is quite nice, although she is starting to show her age a bit since owner isn't using her as much as he used to. NEW FLYBRIDGE ENCLOSURE 9/09) Make an offer- try $190k.
Proof that the market is in a free fall is the fact this yacht came on the market two years ago for over $300k. NOW her asking price is what 2000 Maxum 46's were actually selling for a year ago. THIS is a rare 2001 4600 w/HIGH GLOSS CHERRY WOOD interior woodwork with FACTORY hardtop with flybridge Air conditioning-which is very rare and higly desired. This woodwork was found only in 01 Maxums and 02 Bayliner 4788's and some Sea Ray 48's.
Things I like about Maxum 46's. SOLID glass hulls- NO coring- ALL glass. NO "soft core" problems the Sea Ray's have been having since 1995. Same contemporary designs and features that has made Sea Ray's so popular, from SAME company (both Maxum and Sea Ray are built by Brunswick) but the Maxums have SOLID glass bottoms and the Sea Rays have Balsa coring since 1995 which has been failing with regularity, of which you can read all about at yacht survey dot com.) A 2001 Sea Ray of the same size with a hard top cost over $800k new- whereas the Maxum 4600 cost only $400k NEW for a better built boat!!
Stairs to the flybridge, a raised dinette that allows one to see outside of the vessel while seated, beautiful Ultra Suede leather interior on the LE (Limited Edition) plus large master stateroom and HUGE owners head w/a real large bathtub are features that have made these boats so popular.
Beautiful interior fit and finish. Handsome styling. I've received formal offers on this yacht "try" $190k is my advice.
