Why you bought this boat?
After a very inspiring trip to China in 1996, nearly reaching the age of 30, we asked ourselves if we lived the life we would like to look back at after our retirement. 70/80 hours of work a week, no time for a social life, extremely tiring. Next goal: a bigger house, a bigger car, even more diners in restaurants... No!!! One day to another we decided to give up our brilliant careers and break out. Looking for a yacht to cruise the world seas, we went to look at yacht brokers. The very first day we fell in love, I didnâ??t want to look any further, this was her. But she was far above our budget.
We got in contact with the first owner, who had let the yacht designed and built. He raised his family on her, she was everything for him. Becoming within the 70-s he no longer could sail the yacht. None of his children wanted or had the opportunity to continue with it. No other option than selling. When he saw our faces and heard about our plans, he melted. With tears in his eyes he sold us her, so we could continue his dream....
What you love about the boat?
She is a true classical beauty. She has a fabulous character and a magical spirit. She is one of a kind. Everywhere we went, we always had admiring people.
Your best times on the boat?
In 10 years of cruising of course there are many special moments.
One of my favorites is feeling united with a big group of pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins at Canary Islands. We spent about half a year at Gomera, sailing again, again and again with those beautiful creatures. She has a very special attraction for whales and dolphins, it could be her longkeel, it could be her spirit.....
We spent about 3 month up to the River Gambia, being anchored amid the monkeys and the hippoâ??s. We caught many, many tunas, dorades and barracudas at Cape Verdes. We crossed the Atlantic without any problem. We were part of paradise at Pigneon Point at Tobago eating our freshly caught and grilled lobster. We dived into the blue waters of Bonaire to see one of the most beautiful dive site in the world. Etc....
What would buyers love about the boat?
Once and again her shape is very special. She has very good cruising qualities. The cockpit is spacious and the saloon as well. The deck and the inside are of teak. She is very comfortable to live at, a lot of storage, very well equipped up to a 3kg washing machine.
Why are you selling?
After living 10 years on board, a different chapter is starting. Now we have a daughter of nearly 1 year and 2 dogs. This family life brings different perspectives. We wish to find people who will fall in love with our vessel as we did 13 years ago and continue giving her a shining future.
