?Czech Mate?, our Wellcraft 2600 Martinique began back in 1994 as the Excel 26 SE, and in 1999 she picked up the model name of 2600 Martinique. She?s tough competition for other boats her size thanks to a wonderful layout, very modest price, and her ?trailer-ability?. Her hull construction is solid fiberglass, and at just 5,000-pounds she?s a good trailerable weight. This boat has a basic mid-cabin floor plan, which is arranged with double berths both forward, and aft. She has a nice galley, opening ports, and a fully enclosed, stand-up head with a vanity, and a shower. On deck, the cockpit will seat up to eight people, and the bench seat opposite the helm converts into a sun lounge (this boat has no bottom paint). A walk-thru windshield provides access to the bow. ?Czech Mate? is powered by a single, 270-hp 5.7-litre, fresh-water-cooled Volvo stern drive engine (only 300-hours) which cruises this boat at 25-knots, and will reach a top speed of around 33 to 34-knots ? nice speed for a single-engine family cruiser.
