After a seven year circumnavigation “2 EXTREME” Corbin 39 is
offered for sale. “2 Extreme” is a solid
cursing boat for the serious sailor. “2
Extreme” was layed up in Canada
in 1978; she is a center cockpit, cutter, 39 foot on deck in length, with a 12
foot beam, and draws 6 feet of water. “2
Extreme’s” interior is made from solid teak not plywood veneer, including the
solid teak and holy sole throughout.
Corbins are known for their rugged, heavy, world capable
construction. Hand laid up hulls and the
finest hardware, such as solid stainless ports are used. Because they are built in Canada, most are
finished in the U.S. The interior of
this boat was completed by a pro cabinetmaker.
She was launched in 1984, and has been maintained by a meticulas liveaboard.
A good alternative to a Hans Christian or Lord Nelson, with better accommodations,
shallower draft, and a much lower maintenance exterior.
We have a few boats that are ready to sail most anywhere.
This is one of them. Everything works and she is ready to go.“2 EXTREME” is an excellent cruiser for two to
four people. She is 40’ LOA, comfortable, giving good performance to windward
and in light air, strong enough for around the world cruising and built to the
highest specs.
This boat is a flush deck center cockpit with 7 fully
screened hatches offering excellent ventilation for those of you who are
sailing the tropics.
The CORBIN 39 design is the result of an effort to design
the ideal boat for serious bluewater cruising(a number of these exceptional vessels
have circumnavigated the globe). In all, the vessels are widely considered to
have been quite successful at achieving the design aims and owners report great
satisfaction. CRUISING WORLD (4/98) rates this 39-footer as best overall (more
info is available on the Corbin 39 on the web, google). Their size and cutter
rig were selected based upon building the maximum boat that could be
comfortably handled by a cruising crew of two. She’s heavily built all
fiberglass construction with skeg protected rudder and large modified fin keel
(construction is reported to be 26 layers of hand-laid roving and mat). Designed
by Robert Dufour and built by Quebec’s Corbin les Bateaux. She appears to be in
excellent condition and properly prepared for extended cruising in comfort.
This is a very well equipped high quality yacht that promises many years of
cruising and/or living pleasure. This yacht is so well equipped and feature
rich that there's just too much to be listed here; SHE MUST BE SEEN.
BROKER REMARKS: Well, first let me start by saying that I am
very jealous of the family that owns this bluewater sailing yacht. They have
been to over 70 plus countries in the last seven years. Man-o-Man! They have
seen places we only can read about or listen to their stories. “2 Extreme” is one of a very few real
bluewater vessels that can make the trip to anyplace in the world and actually
do it! Interior is clean and maintained, very good updated diesel driven
engine, Main engine room is tidy and clean. All machinery is in good working
order and tested. The vessel just returned literally this month from her 7 year
trip and is located at our docks in tarpon springs. Call anytime to see! If you
have had the dream, this is the boat that can handle the outcome!
Quoted in April, 1998 "Cruising World" Survey for
the best "Cruising Sailboat". Here the issues of performance,
comfort, and safety were compared against hundreds of sailboats, and the Corbin
39 emerged at the top of the list of "Best Offshore Cruising
Sailboats".
Huge storage and comfortable accommodations help make this
blue-water cruiser the great live-a-board vessel the Corbin has proven to be.
After 7 years of live-a-board cruising, we now offer to the next serious
cruiser, the boat that will take you anywhere on Earth, --- and back.
