Located on the Pacific side of Nicaragua. She was a perfect boat for what I needed her for. I wanted a strong boat from a reliable builder that could be adapted to cruise long distances without breaking the bank. The systems are simple and easy to understand. The boat is fast for her length and highly fuel efficient under steam (about 1 gallon an hour). I'm a big guy and I sailed south with two other guys and all of our gear. We all fit comfortably. The forward berth with its 7' of room is especially comfortable.
I have so many good memories on her that they all kind of blend together. One day we pulled in 17 tuna off of Baja in 10 foot seas averaging about 9 knots. Another day we loaded 22 people on the boat and spent the day cruising the Nicaraguan coast. The foredeck is large enough to load up 8 longboards (shortboards can go in the V berth) and head off to breaks that you can only get to by boat. She is ready for day trips to secluded coves or to see whales and turtles just as much as she's ready to be taken down to Panama and back just for the fun of it.
Overall, she was initially a beautiful boat made for comfort and speed and has been adapted to cruise as well. Her riggings and systems are simple to understand, in great condition, and in need of a new owner. I've decided to begin chartering here in Nicaragua so I'm looking to upgrade to a larger boat. If chartering weren't the plan, I don't think I'd let her go.Accommodations Six - Two in V-berth, two on slide out port settee berth, one on starboard settee berth and one in quarter berth. The interior includes beautifully maintained teak and varnish. It looks as if it only has a couple of years of use. The head is a comfortable size with a Jabsco hand pumping toilet with 20 gallon tank or overflow options.Galley Electric and foot pump for fresh water, large Norcold refrigeration box (under repair), two burner alcohol stove, full set of cutlery, non-skid kitchen ware, pots and percolator. There is plenty of room for storing food, adding a microwave, or even adding a stove.Electronics Gypsy has a handheld Garmin GPS with extra charts loaded for cruising the pacific coast of latin America. There is also an older backup handheld GPS. There is another GPS and depth finder mounted on the helm. Autopilot and our Garmin 162 GPS
There is an Orion 25W VHF in the cabin as well as a handheld VHF radio. Additionally, there is a Kaiko single side band receiver radio that is great for listening to cruiser nets.
There is a two speaker sound system in the cabin with a stereo that plays CDs or MP3 formatted discs.

There is a 17 inch flat screen TV with DVD.
The boat also includes a Honda 1000 gas generator that is incredibly durable and only one year old. Electrical LED running lights were put in place before leaving California last year. An LED anchor light was also installed. To accommodate cruising longer distances, two deep cycle 4D batteries were installed, with an additional battery for starting. The batteries are on an incredibly simple system that can allow for one, two, or all to be on at the same time.
The previous owner was an electrical engine and kept everything in tip top shape. The wiring is simple and easy to follow. During the cruise south we took a good amount of water over the deck. Some of that water slowly came through the hatch and corroded a section of the cabin light wiring. This is currently being replaced with marine grade 14 gauge wire.
A new electric fuel pump was added to the engine last October.
The boat includes a 500 watt inverter and a small plug in 300 watt inverter.
For shore power or hooking up to the generator, there is a 25 amp battery charger. Deck The boat was hauled one year ago. Along with the previous owner, I sanded the bottom paint down to find only two small blisters! That's incredible for a boat this age. I believe this was due to meticulous maintenance by the previous owner. We just hauled the boat out again for annual maintenance and will be repainting once again. We are also re-varnishing and applying teak oil to all of the wood.
The deck is in excellent condition. All metal stanchions have been maintained with anti-rust and anti-stain oils. There are toe rails to hook on snatch blocks for sailing with the 150 or a drifter. All topside wood is protected by custom made sunbrella covers and looks great.
She has a custom made sunbrella dodger with a clear plastic front. There is a roll-up extension to protect the cabin from the sun on hot days. There are cockpit cushions for all benches and all are in perfect condition. Sail and Rigging Standing rigging was replaced about three years ago and is in excellent condition. All running rigging is in very good condition as well. Foresail winches are self tailing. All winches have recently been taken apart and re-greased.
Foresails include an original 150% with UV protection on leach and luff. A custom made 50% 8 oz. foresale with UV covers that match the mainsail covers was made this past year by UK Halsey Sail Makers. This sail is optimal for Central American cruising. The foresails are mounted on a Harken Roller furler.
The main sail is the original and in good condition. The leach was reinforced and a high second reef was put in last year by a UK Halsey Sail Maker loft.
A drifter sail is also included though it has hanks and was never converted to be used on a roller furler.
All running rigging terminates in the cockpit and makes solo sailing a viable option. Although there is a boomvang, there is also a preventer system that is often times more useful in downwind sailing to prevent unwanted jibes. Additional She includes a good amount of additional equipment that was purchased for the sail south. 8' Achilles hypalon dinghy with wooden slat bottom and a 2.5 hp Yamaha two-stroke engine. This includes the footpump. Several cruising manuals for the pacific coast from California to Panama as well as charts Men's large tropical foul weather outfit and an XXL outfit. Magma propane grill mounted on stern pulpit Emergency tiller 50 foot Marinco shore power cable Wood plugs, spare hose clamps, several spare blocks and padeyes, cable cutter, pipe repair kit One year old flare kit with flare gun in plastic case Extra filters and spare engine parts 3.2 mm full wetsuit that is only 2 years old, size XXL. Two one year old mustang harnesses with inflating life vests . Two 1 year old double line elastic tethers. Two jack lines to clip in to. Floating rapid ditch bag with Spear gun, fishing kit, 64 drinking water packs and large first aid kit. Three sets of ground tackle. A 35 pound Danforth with 40' of chain and 250' of rode for cruising. There is also a 25 lb backup danforth with chain and rode. The stern anchor is 15 lbs and stores conveniently under the captain's chair.
