'Clipper City' is a steel reproduction of a fast pre-Civil War Great Lakes cargo schooner known for remarkable sailing performance. Now in the day-charter business in NYC, 'Clipper City' is able to carry up to 150 people, including crew for special events, wedding parties, harbor cruises, etc.
'Clipper City' has just undergone an eight-month refit that included two dry-dockings, a new engine, full rigging overhaul, reconstruction of the onboard bar and heads, plumbing, wiring, ballast service, recoating of bilges and all topside paint, etc. 'Clipper City' now has a five year 'hull and machinery' credit from the USCG, and received her full USCG Certificate of inspection 06/09.
The sale price of this vessel includes not just the ship, but also the charter business (including a 4.5 year dock lease at South Street Seaport, ticket booth, current bookings, website, promotional materials, vendors and suppliers, numerous spares, etc.). In other words, a truly all-inclusive 'turnkey' business in the middle of one of the greatest metropolitan areas in the world!
