Until this past year, this ferry was operated as a USCG inspected ferry and certified to carry up to 98 passengers and up to 12 cars. Documentation was changed in 2006 to a commercial fishing vessel (used in aquaculture operations) but the vessel can easily be recertified as a passenger vessel.
All USCG required lifesaving and fire fighting equipment is intact and onboard.
The vessel has a recently installed dual hydraulic steering system for twin station operation.
A refurbished hydraulic extension boom crane was mounted on deck in 2006 with new Pullmaster, hydraulic tank, engine components and hoses.
The twin hydraulic tank system for the steering is a separate system from the hydraulic tank/system used to run the hydraulic crane and other work equipment
The Lister engine is a back-up system for water pumping and electrical power generating.
The main engine is set up to provide electricity, water pumping through a clutched Jabsco pump and hydraulic pressure for both the steering and the crane. The separate hydraulic system for the crane can be isolated and shut off as required from the pilot house.
This vessel was hauled in September 2006, bottom cleaned and inspected
new zincs were installed and anti-foul bottom paint was applied.
Engine room has been newly painted.
This vessel was surveyed in July 2006 and is available for review.
