57.5’ x 15.5’ x 6’ 1918 Steel Tugboat

Built 1918 by Riley Shipbuilding, Buffalo, NY

All steel, riveted hull

Shell plating: 3/8”

Molded depth: 11’

Gross tonnage: 33.0

Net tonnage: 22.0

Powered by 12V71 and 6-71N both with Allison hydraulic transmissions

opposing into a Falk Marine gear, shafted to a 3:1 separate reduction

gear driving a 5” steel shaft.  All rebuilt 2004/5, new clutches, injectors etc

These are in very good condition and run very smooth and smoke free.

Equipment is 1968 to 1970 installation.  Hours unknown, 700 total hp.

Fuel capacity: 1200 gallons

Fuel consumption: 30 gph

Manual and electric steering, rudder indicator

Cruising speed: 10 mph

(2) 30 KW generators, 4 cylinder, 240 VAC/120 VAC house current

All new 12VDC systems and 3 8D batteries

All new instruments and panels in bridge and engine room

Electronics: VHF radio; Raytheon 2.2 KW antennae, no display; 10” compass

                   3 trumpet Kahlenberg air horns (rebuilt)      

                   2 mile Ray searchlight (rebuilt)

Winches: 3 manual deck cable winches

Tow bit: Good size aft tow bit

Bilge pumps: 2, 120V & 12V

This tugboat has always been in fresh water

Completely repainted with 2 part epoxy in 2005

Interior redone and painted, paneled.
