Derecktor Yachts started in 1947 with Bob Derecktor producing the first boat, and a small business near the water in Mamaroneck, New York. Derecktor now is a three-shipyard company, with a presence in the cities of Bridgeport, Connecticut and Dania, Florida, as well as the original Mamaroneck, New York location. Derector has attained many accomplishments, such as lightweight alloy usage for constructing spars, and combining aluminum and composite materials for superior yacht building. Derector’s yachts have been around America’s Cup championships, and allowed owners to enjoy luxury yachting. Derecktor Florida is a leader in new material usage for trustworthy yacht performance, including using titanium. Derector has built sailing yachts from 58 feet to 150 feet in length from the 1970’s to the present.
