Feadship Yachts is the combination of two Netherlands shipyards, separately established, coming together in 1949. The De Vries and Royal Van Lent families founded Feadship. The name of Feadship stands for the First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders. The company started out focusing on the United States’s active market for pleasure yachts. Feadship has produced custom-built displacement motoryachts, which can be from 70-213 feet long. De Vries Scheepsbouw is in the center of Aaslmeer, and the Van Lent shipyard is on Kaag Island. Two motoryachts are built at each yard per year. The design center, De Voogt Naval Architects, is in Haarlem. Feadship uses steel and aluminum for construction materials.
