Mission Statement

The world is changing.
As we move, as we track through the information now presented, as our brains cavort along their apparently random paths, increasingly powerful technologies will anticipate our needs. But at what point does our control end and that of the profit-makers begin? At what point does the profit-maker stop asking "What does my customer really want" and start asking "How can I make the customer want this?"

That is the boundary that is shifting the web from its early days as a pure, raw, gloriously energetic and sensitive consumer barometer.

This is where the BoatQuest comes in. It must be the tool by which the boaters can navigate and make their feelings known. It must provide an environment that is safe because it is impartial and of the person's choosing, leaving the technology free to explore intelligently for them. It must free the human mind from drudgery of survival-based chores, for the purpose of spiritual evolution, so that we do not end up trapped as compulsive consumers, burning our living hours generating dollars to give to others for things they tell us we want; never really knowing what we really want or what is important to us.

We must keep thinking. About who we really are. About what we really want. We must have a powerful tool for finding our way around the information world: a tool that does not impose value on us, but helps us find our own meaning.

If we do not, the mutated survivors will be the corporations who have managed the most manipulation, not the beauty of the human spirit in all its fierce joy of living and intensity of love for self and other sentiments.
