Bennett Brothers Yachts is a 25 year old yard in North Carolina that has been contract building high-quality custom vessels of all varieties.  Nothing was spared in the structure of this 48' sportfisherman, from the carbon fiber framing and Kevlar reinforced bottom to the fiberglass bonded hull to deck joint. She is built to withstand the pounding she might face when the twin 800hp CATs are fired up on a lumpy sea headed to a distant fishing ground. At the dock her interior finish will impress plus offer comfort and function. The durability of her construction will allow her to maintain the fine details for many years to come. Layout and walk-through
This is a custom built vessel with superior quality interior finish featuring a two stateroom & two head layout and a mid-level galley.  There is extensive Cherrywood cabinetry, finished bulkheads, doors, and strip paneled hull lining in the staterooms.  The galley sole, steps and companionway are beautiful black walnut strip planked.  The forward stateroom has upper/lower berths with the top able to be expanded to a small double.  The master stateroom aft to the starboard side has a tapered queen berth and has a private head.  The salon sofa can be converted to a double berth as well which gives a total sleeping capacity of six or seven friends. 
Accommodations
BY DESIGN features a large salon and galley with a view!  Her custom cabinetry and mill work is American cherry with lightweight sandwich panel construction. The galley is three steps up from the staterooms. The salon is one step up from the galley, ensuring the chief cook and bottle washer is included in all activities. Access to the cockpit is through a pair of  centerline doors offering a 40" clear opening which allows social gatherings easy flow through. Recessed pin spot lighting with dimmers offers the owner to create a variety of moods or get the bright even light needed to clean up after the party. The salon represents the ultimate in comfort and style including an Ultrasuede overhead and house ceilings. A large leather L-shaped sofa is to starboard, which not only lifts on struts to access a large rod stowage box but also converts to a large double bunk with 6'5" length. The salon centerpiece is a custom hi-low table of Maple Burl and Cherry. There are storage lockers to port, and the TV, VCR and Bose stereo are housed in an entertainment center with pocket doors. A large custom distribution panel is hidden behind cabinet doors. Extra large tackle drawers are part of the forward starboard cabinet.  Windows are tinted and treated with Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds ('08) that can be raised to be hidden by the valance panels. The master stateroom features a tapered queen berth with cedar lined storage beneath. Hanging and cave lockers line the hull side. The cabinets are cherry with overheads in Ultrasuede, housing recessed lighting. The cabin has independent air conditioning and a TV/VCR combo. The private head compartment has a large separate shower stall with seat, partitioned with clear acrylic enclosure.  Natural light & ventilation is through the stainless steel deck hatch above. The Headhunter toilet is freshwater & electric flush. Countertops are Terra Brown Corian with white molded sink, mirrored toiletries cabinet and Grohe fixtures. The guest stateroom is compact with over/under bunks. The top bunk cleverly expands to a cozy double. Hull linings are cherry strips with cave lockers to port and a shelf to starboard. The large hanging locker is lined with cedar. Overhead and bulkheads are faced with Ultrasuede. A large stainless steel deck hatch provides both light and ventilation. The cabin has a dedicated air handler. The guest/day head just aft on the portside has natural ventilation from the stainless steel overhead deck hatch. The interior trim is teak and countertops are Corian Cobalt Blue with hand-painted fish tiles that accent the backsplash.  Both heads feature wood soles.  Like the master there are Grohe fixtures & Headhunter head.
Galley
The cherry cabinets have Corian countertops. A large round stainless steel sink is under-mounted and features a Grohe faucet. The Kenyon two-burner electric cook-top can be hidden from view with a lift-off Corian top. The power runs through a microswitch preventing the lid from being replaced while it is still on. There is an under-counter Sub-zero freezer and the matching refrigerator is installed opposite. There is ample storage and a microwave that is flush mounted in the bulkhead. The galley sole is black walnut finished with a high-gloss clear coat, which is a beautiful contrast to the Ultra-suede and cherry.

Construction
The deck and house sides are balsa core with a foam cored flybridge molding. The extra large one piece 1/2" laminated glass deckhouse windows offers strength and security with an almost panoramic view from within and privacy from those outside. There is a large teak decked cockpit and built-in custom cabinets on the house bulkhead. The bait prep and tackle station is to port. A huge insulated ice chest is to starboard. There are side lockers for shore cords and gaffs. Live baitwell on the transom. All coamings faced in heavy teak. Beautiful varnished teak toerail. A large transom door offers ease in landing large fish. The hull is composite construction in vinylester throughout with solid laminate to chine. Balsa core above chine, with a bolted and glassed hull/deck joint. All hull stiffeners and frames are carbon capped and reinforcement in bottom panels is Kevlar. The sub-sole is laminated to the deep structural floors. Engine beds run full length of the motors.  Displacement is reported to be 41,000#.  The bottom design is basically a deep-V with a wide chine aft and a small keel.  Bennett Brothers Yachts is a 25 year-old company still active in Wilmington, NC that builds high-quality custom vessels of all types. This 48' Sportfisherman was a project spec'd by a client from New England and was originally named CATJA. When new her finished price was far above $1m.

Comments
The current owner (3rd) saw this boat when it was first built and dreamed of one day owning it.  He took much pride in updating and renewing the systems & cosmetic aspects and now offers a top shelf custom sportfish to the market due to a change in plans that prompt the sale.  Boat has been captain maintained.
