Overview
SERENDIPITY is a classic example of the venerable 86 series designed by Jack Hargrave and built by Burger Boat Company, incorporating many features rarely found in her siblings. Among these are her wide body deckhouse design, "Country kitchen" galley arrangement, and reliable Caterpillar main engines. Blending timeless tradition with elegance and quality construction, the 86' Burger, with her high flared bow and graceful sweeping sheer line is widely recognized as one of the most distinctive profiles on the water. With an easily driven semi-displacement hull design, she offers excellent range and fuel economy at displacement speeds and outstanding performance at cruise speeds. Ruggedly built with full keel running gear protection, four water tight bulkheads and double bottom fuel tanks she is suitable for cruising shallow draft areas like the Bahamas as well as serious offshore passage making.   Over the last five years, SERENDIPITY has enjoyed an extensive refit, update and maintenance program bringing her up to proper yacht condition. The partial list includes: 1) New teak decks 2) Complete new Awlcraft 2000 paint job, in Matterhorn white w/ royal blue sheer 3) Replating of any bottom areas which were questionable 3) New exhaust system 4) New dripless shaft seals, 5) New interior décor 6) New carpeting throughout 7) Two Sea Doo jet skis 7) The addition of a third Burger davit to service jet skis 8) New motor mounts 9) The addition of a ladder from the aft deck to the boat deck 10) Major services on main engines, generators 11) New outboard motor on tender
Vessel Walkthrough
Spanning the yacht's full beam and almost 30' in length, SERENDIPITY’s salon and formal dining area are nothing short of spectacular. All cabinetry and joiner work in the salon are done in a satin finish honey teak with carpathian elm accents. There are custom teak blinds on all windows as well as Hunter Douglas shades on the aft sliding doors and port and starboard lexan wing doors. Entering the salon through center line glass sliding doors from the aft deck, to port is a large curved sofa flanked by a built-in end table aft, and a buffet forward. On the starboard side aft is a round game table with four chairs followed by a large walk-behind wet bar with commercial ice maker, refrigerator, wine rack and extensive glass and bottle storage. Moving forward on centerline is the formal dining table for six. Two concealed doors on the port side of the forward bulkhead hide a utility closet and the rack of audiophile components. The 36" television is in the center of the forward bulkhead and is hidden by two pocket doors when not in use.   Continuing forward via the starboard side passageway with teak and maple inlay sole, is the day head followed by the two step up entrance to the raised pilothouse, a sliding teak side entry door and finally the large country kitchen finished in a stained oak. The dinette on the forward bulkhead of the country kitchen comfortably accommodates six.   A curved stairwell on the forward starboard side of the country kitchen leads down to the crews quarters and engine room.   SERENDIPITY offers three spacious en suite owner and guest staterooms below.  The master is aft with center line king size bed, walk in cedar lined closet, lighted vanity, and abundant drawer space.  Forward of the master are two identical guest staterooms with twin berths, cedar lined hanging lockers and built in dressers.  A stacked washer and dryer, storage locker and linen closet are located along the passageway between the master and guest staterooms.  All staterooms and baths have opening port lights, new light tropical themed wall coverings, and white cabinetry creating a light airy atmosphere.  A curved stairway forward of the master with accent lights hidden in the teak handrail, leads up to the salon.
