     THIS YACHT SHOWS EXTREMELY WELL- she's always been professionally maintained. Rightfully there's been much recent activity on her. I've recently written two formal offers on her, but both involved trades, which the owner wasn't interested in (people wanted too much for their boats vs cash difference they would give for this one. WHY a 5288 versus a 4788 people ask.  The answer is RIDE, RIDE, RIDE, PLUS the full width master stateroom, PLUS the walk-in engine room accessed from the aft-deck. A bigger heavier boat rides better in rougher sea's than a lighter smaller boat. Also the theoretical waterline length of the 5288 and 5788 is longer than the 4788 which gives it a higher displacement speed at LOWER rpms. I've had buyers who've bought these larger boats report BETTER fuel mileage than their 4788's cruising the same speeds as it tool less RPM's to do it.  BUT, these boats have the ability to really get up and punch through weather when you need it. IF you find yourself doing long offshore passages, you would prefer a larger boat than a 4788 for the ride and security of heavier displacement. As of January 2011, this boat is priced similar to some 2000 Bayliner 4788's. As of December 2011- it's time to cut her loose. Bring your offers.
