| She is a 1956 Chesapeake deadrise built By H.M. Krentz in Harry Hogan, Va. She worked as a "buy boat" for twenty years in the oyster trade. Then as a grocery freighter for a few. She was modified to carry tourist on her deck by the city of Hampton, Va. After that she was bought buy a tour company and the wheelhouse was configured on the second deck. she has been through two other owners since then now me.
She is in refurbishment and I had a partner bail out of the deal so as you can imagined I am torn between selling her and finishing the project myself. I have been slowly completing projects. She is in very sound shape. I am assisted in her maintenence and refurbished by a highly skilled, respected and experienced shipwright.
Since I placed this add I have done other projects(see all projects listed below), and just before Christmas, completed a very important structural support project cutting in beams to support the upper suprerstructure that has increased the value of the vessel.
She is basically gutted inside now. Projects that I have completed included: -total fordeck and fore cabin top rebuild addressing all dry rot and sealed in epoxy covered bi-axial mat/cloth. Finished fairng with AWLFAIR and painted with AWLGRIP. Deck non-skid is AWLGRIP poly microbeads.
-total wheelhouse and Captains Cabin cabintop redesigned from flat roof to present design and again expoxy and biaxial covered decking.
-total redesign and replacement of rudder adding 3 horizontal wings for flow control and strength
-total rebuild of rudder stock with all stainless steel parts including rudder log and rudder tiller
-many hull planks have been replaced annually and will continue with freeboard planks as needed.
-A complete new Raymarine Navigation package with GPS, Radar, large display chart plotter with SIRIUS weather plus Depthfinder/fishfinder.
-new airhorn with compressor.
-all new running lights.
-new stainless steel anchor chute and capstan.
