FRESHWATER MATTHEWS VOYAGER
This exquisite 60’ Mathews Voyager “Mahogany II” is believed to be the last "60 footer" built by Matthews Boat Company of Port Clinton Ohio. She has spent her entire life on the Great Lakes and has been a FRESH WATER only vessel for the duration of her life. This boat was originally delivered to Chuck Bruce in September of 1970 and has had only 4 previous owners.
This boat has been extremely well maintained by its current and previous owners and no expense has been spared in keeping this vessel in phenomenal condition. The current owner replaced all damaged planks when he initially purchased the boat in 2001. Each year he thoroughly inspects the bottom of the hull and if any suspect wood is found he replaces the entire plank. In the past 9 years only 5 planks have been replaced. The bottom of the hull is scrapped and painted each year.
This boat had a major overhaul of both 8V71 Detroit diesels in 2002, contact us for complete and detailed records. Since the overhauls there have been less than 500 hours logged on the engines. On a cruise from Cheboygan to Mackinaw Island the boat was piloted by a retired Navy captain who said the boat is perfectly harmonically balanced. She uses only 19GPH at 15mph with the Kohler 18.5 gen and only 11GPH at 10mph with the Kohler gen. This amazing economy can be verified by the vessels log.
This vessel is equipped to run in any weather condition, and has had new furniture and a 40” flat panel installed this past season. The vessel is equipped with a Freedom lift and 13’ AB rigid bottom center console powered by a 50 H.P. Evinrude E-tec. The transom of the “Mahogany II” was reinforced 4 additional inches. Additionally, 1/2 inch specially fabricated stainless L braces were bolted to the transom and into the stringers. The Freedom lift and inflatable were new in 2007.
