Comments Never heard of Out Island Sportfishing Yachts? Well, get ready to hear alot about us, as more and more knowledgable skippers are finding out what a truly innovative and great riding yacht we are offering! Visit our main BoatsMiami website and see what BOATING Magazine had to say in their August 2002 BOAT TEST about our sistership, the 38' Out Island Express Fisherman...
SPECIAL NOTE: When viewing the speed specs in the article: The table shows the cruise speed incorrectly, as it is listed at the wrong RPM as that recommended by Yanmar. The true cruise speed at the factory recommended 2700 RPM is a whopping 32.5 knots... a solid 37.4 MPH CRUISE! The article listed the 2400 RPM speed as cruise, which still produced an incredible 28.6 knots. At a slow 2100 RPM cruise, the cruise speed is still a more than respectable 24.8 knots with only a 17.4 gallon per hour, combined, fuel consumption. This gives you an incredible 1.4 miles per gallon, a cruise range of 700 miles on one tank, and you don't have to go at 10 knot displacement speeds to do so!!!
