The PowerBoat Guide had this to say:
The Regal 402 Commodore began life in 1985 as the 360 Commodore, a smartly styled mid-cabin express with a decidedly upscale interior to go with her good looks. She's built on a modified deep-V hull with a solid fiberglass bottom, cored hullsides, moderate beam, and a well-flared bow. Note that prop pockets are used in conjunction with V-drives to reduce shaft angles and allow for shallow water operation. A molded pulpit was added to the package on 1990, and in 1991 Regal reintroduced her as the 380 Commodore, now with an integral swim platform, a redesigned helm console, side exhausts, and a much improved profile. In 1993 she became the 400 Commodore with a new interior layout, and from 1995-99 she was called the 402 Commodore. Notable features including standing headroom in the aft stateroom, a low profile radar arch, electric engine hatch, side exhausts, and a roomy cockpit with seating for eight.
