Hull- Structure & Fittings
M/V "Yachta" is a steel built commercial vessel, keel laid 1999, which converted during 2001 and 2002 to a marine research vessel and then again, during 2005, refitted into an upscale, commercial passenger vessel.

The hull is built of transverse framing angle bars with intermitted welding. The yacht's Superstructure comprised of two tiers deckhouse which contains cabins; wheelhouse; galley, messroom and living room, salon and bar; all completed and fitted with Mahagony wood furniture.

Steering and Engine Controls The vessel was equipped with 2 control stations that provide complete maneuvering control from each : 1. In the cockpit – 2 Trotails for gear, 2 Trotails for speed, hydraulic manual steering wheel, Auto pilot and bowthruster joystick. 2. In the stern ramp above the main deck – 2 Trotails ( gear + speed), data tiller steering and bowthruster operation switch.

Last Refit in 2005 The purpose was to convert the vessel into an upscale, commercial passenger vessel. The following list of new purchases and new fittings and jobs performed, as per refit report made by owner: 1. Replaced all 24V cables, batteries, selectors and isolators. 2. Replaced sea water tubes, and 4 bilge pumps. 3. Replaced all the railings to stainless steel with mahogany wood cover with marine varnish. 4. Replaced the stairways to stainless steel with teak steps. 5. Large carpentry job (mahogany) in the observation lab that was changed to a luxurious bar-lounge, including new ceiling and installation of all new 220V light elements. 6. New marine Air conditioning units for all the cabins and bar platform, industrial fridge units were installed in the bar. 7. The Hull was repainted with 2 coats (in addtition to the 7 existing coats) of Norwegian Juton paint. 8. The upper deck was refitted to a sitting place with 2 bars and stainless steel railing. 9. The boat was hauled to dry dock and checked (see survey ultrasonic inspection dated 12/04/05), the bottom and wheel and shaft were serviced, anode zincs added. 10. A massive stainless steel bimini with sunbrella cover was installed on the main deck, as well as stainless steel and teak sitting benches. 11. The large diver/swimmers platform was upgraded to new stainless steel supports with teak planks. 12. All 220/380V system was re-wired, 2 isolation transformers were installed with a regulator. 13. Engines were lifted to be supported by American manufactured shock-observers, and flexible couplings were installed on each shaft. 14. Engine and generators exhaust systems were replaced to new, and Vetus water locks added. 15. New mono pump 380V Shaft model was installed for the grey water tanks. 16. Stainless steel 1.8 ton lifting power / 4 meter hydraulic PASSARELA was added for passengers entrance. 17. Noise Thinsulate 3M material covered aluminum plates, were installed at engine room entrance and door together with a wood plate Knish construction to provide a noise-free space around the engine room entrance. 18. New 800 gallon diesel day-tanks were fitted at the aft-pick. 19. A fire CO2 tank system was installed with leading pipes into the engine room. 20. An all-around smoke detector alarm system (with heat detectors at the engine room and kitchen) were installed with a control panel at the cockpit. 21. An audio professional music system, together with a 42" plasma T.V Pioneer.

Tankage * Water : Drinking (2) – 5.16 tons. * Bilge : Graywater (2) – 6.52 tons. * Diesel : Day Tanks (2) – 3.2 tons. Main Tanks (2) – 15.2 tons. * Water/Diesel Optional: (2) – 12.84 tons.
