| Accommodations Pilothouse
extension will make a great double pilot berth with ready access to the
ships controls and a large upper deck. There is even a handsome 42"
mahogany spoked ships wheel from a 1930's Canadian schooner that was
just purchased and is being custom fitted to the helm plate. The
pilothouse design lends itself to a roomy flying bridge accessed from
the upper deck. The lines of the vessel look very good with or without
a flying bridge.
Down one level to the main deck, the main
deck house will be a large galley and sitting area with double mahogany
doors to the aft deck.
A full head is designated forward of
the galley and under the pilothouse raised deck. Down a spiral stairway
brings one to the cargo hold where 4 portlights bring in ample natural
light. This can be divided into separate cabins or made into a grand
saloon with fireplace. This space is 18'x18'
Aft of this space walk through a watertight door into the engine room with full headroom and a complete walkaround engine.
Forward
of the cargo space walk through another water tight door into the
focsle. This is where the original crews quarters and galley were
located.
There is the remains of a full head here. Two
portlights let in subtle light. This will make great guest quarters, a
work shop or just storage space. A new wooden stairway leads to the
foredeck. The framework for 6'-6" V berths have been started
|
Galley Please keep in mind that the conversion of this vessel is an ongoing project. Price will increase accordingly.
Main
deck house will be the galley and salon area. Large windows are framed
in and frames are built of 2" solid mahogany. This area can be
configured in any way to suit the buyer. Double doors will be solid
mahogany opening onto the aft deck. A sliding side door opens onto the
port side deck.

Ballast and More This
is an opportunity to own your own ship. There is nothing like her on
the market when you consider the custom work that has been done to make
her a very practical. liveaboard / cruiser. At 65’ her size is
comfortable and very manageable. She is easily handled and has a good
reputation for maneuverability.
In Sept. 2005, this vessel was
ballasted with 9 yards of concrete equaling 18 tons. This still leaves
10" of copper paint showing below the water line allowing for the
weight of interior finishes and additional equipment. Part of this
concrete was poured into the forward bilge space and the rest as a
smooth insulated slab on the cargo hold deck making a nice finished
floor ready for paint or carpet. This slab is insulated underneath to
R7 and will act as a heat sink to help keep the interior spaces warm.
