| Description |
Winter wet storage to April 30, 2007 included.
Owner has a complete set of scale drawings which go with the boat.
Might be of interest to some charterboat captain who wants to upgrade the
Number of passengers carried for hire.
The owner bought this boat some 5-6 years ago, without a sea trial, because of the fact that the hull material is fire-retardant polyester (FRP) fiberglass and the reputation of UNIFLITE Mfg. Co.. This company is known for building boats with ruggedness, strength, superior use of materials and top-notch workmanship. The owner had to do a lot of work on her, as she was in dry storage for some eight (8) years. The gas engines and generator were rusted and seized. He put in a low-cost pair of Detroit 8-V53s. Achieved 12 kn cruising speed. She was upgraded to 350HP CATS in 2004, achieved 15 kn cruise.
Owner Comments:
I very much like the way the boat handles in rough seas. With the weight it displaces, the boat travels through rough seas in any direction in relative comfort.
Best times were the few far offshore (canyon) trips I made with the boat. Although time-wise long trips, the knowledge that the vessel is fire-retardant and rugged, made for ease of mind and let me concentrate on the fishing, the reason for the trips.
The Buyer, after a few inshore or offshore trips, will like the same things. Also, whereas smaller boats generally do not or can not venture out into 4-6-foot waves, this boat can handles those seas with ease and comfort. At such times, there are fewer competitors for the fish, and the waterways are less congested, making for safer and faster passage.
