Description

WHAT -

HAS LINES AS PICTURESQUE AS AN ALASKAN MOUNTAIN RANGE?

IS AS TOUGH AS A KODIAK BEAR?

SWIMS WITH WALRUSES?

You guessed it, this 40 foot Willard/Sloth Tri Cabin Trawler. And we suppose you've guessed that the boat is located in Alaska too.

PICTURESQUE - Look at those classic lines in the photos. (We couldn't call it pretty, our brethren in Alaska are too manly.)

TOUGH - We're not kidding it is tough. Originally built as a U.S. Navy launch in 1984, it had to be able to withstand complete swamping for 12 hours without sinking! A steel beam was built into the hull so it could be attached at two lifting points to cranes on board a mother ship so it could be lifted onto the deck. The net effect is a very stiff hull. When our very knowledgable owner converted this vessel into a Tri Cabin Trawler in 2001, he made it tough enough to withstand the extreme Alaskan conditions. For instance, he added a heavy steel rudder shoe for protection against rocks, logs and grounding. The cabin windows are lexan and are mounted to the outsie of the cabin like they are in the Alaskan fishing vessels so they can't be blown out by a wave. Pretty wood work does not survive the Alaskan winters very well. So our owner made all bulkheads out of fiberglass and used veneer trim very sparingly. Not only is this tough, it is essentially maintenance free. Just wipe it with a damp cloth to clean it.

SWIMS WITH WALRUSES - Yes, it is true! Our owner turns out to be a well know author on things Alaskan, especially the walrus. For around seven weeks every year he brings paying guests on tours to the Alaskan wilderness to see the walrus and other wildlife. Look at the photos to see INCONNU swimming with the walruses.

Oh yes, we almost forgot to mention, for another $20,000 the owner will throw in the tour business too. Worth it? Hmm, let's see. It brings in around $50,000 per year in only 5-7 weeks. That makes it possible for the boat to become a business deduction (we'll bet a good accountant can show you how to lose money on paper and reduce your other income.) Gosh, a boat that could pay for itself. Now that seems like a no-brainer to us! If you are not the Alaskan type, INCONNU would be equally fit as a family trawler, charter vessel, work boat, or could even be refitted as a fishing vessel. And don't worry, we know how to get it transported to you!

To sum up - If you are looking for a great looking and tough Tri Cabin Trawler at about $100,000 cheaper than equivalent vessels, here it is! One final thing. You should know that he owner's phone is ringing off the hook with people wanting to book charters for next summer. He is finding it hard to resist all of that cash they want to give him and another summer on INCONNU. So we'd suggest acting quickly on this one. BRING ALL OFFERS QUICKLY!
