Mintaka San was built using the strongest and most expensive methods known. For instance, strip planking 42 mm x 19 mm kiln dried, quarter sawn, clear, old growth (minimum 25 years to the inch) Canadian Western red cedar was used. Each plank was individually fitted and epoxy glued. The hull is fiberglass laminate and designed to be strong and safe by her owner and Wayne Hill/Windspeed and to cruise the oceans in 5 star comfort and luxury. The owner sailed her around the world and she has just undergone a major refit in 2006. This vessel hosts a whole range of new equipment including fridge, washing machine, electric toilets, stove, oven, steering, two new 21hp diesel inboard engines and includes the latest navigation, electrical, sailing and cruising equipment.
