  1968 33 Feet Allied Luders 33

Description

DRAMATIC PRICE REDUCTION! You are looking at a rich piece of sailing history – a 1968 Allied Luders 33 – sistership to Dove, the Luders 33 that safely carried Robin Lee Graham to the finish in his quest to circumnavigate the globe, becoming the youngest person ever to do so. Featured as one of "Twenty Great Used Boat Bargains" in the October 1994 issue of Cruising World, this Luders 33 combines ultra-sturdy construction with extraordinary seakeeping ability.

Her fine, clean entry and streamlined keel means head seas won't pound her crew into exhaustion like some light-displacement full-bodied boats. The cutaway forefoot enables her come about in her own length. Her generous beam and deep 4,500 lb. keel provide the stability and righting moment to carry full sail when the rest of the fleet is reefing. With a hull strong enough to take a drubbing and fittings husky enough to take on just about any sea state, this Luders 33 is one tough customer indeed.

On deck, she features a two-compartment lazarette for efficient storage of your tools and gear. The self-bailing cockpit offers plenty of seating room on newly-fitted cushions, and is equipped with a wooden tiller with autopilot for maximum helm feel. Her classic, low-profile deckhouse sports a forehatch, teak grabrails, six large watertight ports and two 4” dorades, making her both bright and well-ventilated below. Newly-rigged cars, blocks and running rigging adorn the deck. A large mainsail and masthead foretriangle provides plenty of power, with a generous sail inventory that includes 2 roller-furling jibs as well as a working jib, 150 and 170 jibs, new storm jib and new spinnaker. Two new working anchors with full ground tackle provide secure holding and peace of mind in less than tranquil waters.

Belowdecks, you find a rather spacious cabin and V-berth for a boat with a waterline length of 24 ft. The main cabin features a well-fitted teak cabin sole, an extensive use of teak trim with meticulous joiner work and an abundance of locker space. The china locker holds dinner service for eight, and the dinette and settee combine to comfortably seat you and your guests. At night, the dinette converts to a comfortable double berth, with the starboard pilot berth adding to sleeping accommodations for up to 5 people. The athwartships galley includes gimbaled 3-burner alcohol stove with oven, stainless sink with hot and cold pressurized water and insulated 150 lb. ice chest. The ample chart table and navigating nook is ideal for racing or cruising and displays a depth sounder, wind and speed gauges, Garmin chartplotter, VHF and AM/FM stereo with CD player.

Auxiliary-powered by a dependable and efficient Volvo Penta 3-cyl. diesel, she also comes with new hull and bottom paint, new water tanks, new air-conditioning, new shower system, new hot water heater, and small dingy with a new 3-hp Yamaha outboard.

Designed by one of America's finest naval architects, this classic sloop is part of an exclusive fraternity of 107 Luders 33 owners from around the world who can provide plenty of reasons why she has such a strong ownership following and active owner’s association. Owner will consider all serious offers. Shown by appointment.
