Details of Accomodation & General Layout

Forward and aft staterooms both with private heads. Salon with central dining table. Galley to port of companionway, navigation station to starboard. Large engine room to port. Connecting passage to rear stateroom with private head.

Forward Cabin

Forward V berth stateroom with connecting door to private head. Hanging locker and storage under bed. Access to anchor locker by waterproof bulkhead door.

Forward Head

Forward head blue plastic laminate surfaces with basin, hot & cold pressured water, shower, teak framed oval mirror and cabinet behind and below basin. Forward head can be discharges overboard or to 20 gallon holding tank (system complete with manual pump and diverting valves).

Main Cabin

Main cabin with port and starboard settees in teal color ultra-suede. Each settee pulls out to provide twin bed. Hanging locker forward. Storage behind settee backs and below seating. Behind seating on each side are front and back lockers separated with book shelf on starboard side and flat panel TV on port side.

Double fold down leaf solid teak table with insert to drinks storage in center.

Galley

Galley has two round stainless steel sinks, gimbaled two burner stove with grill and oven, Crosby 12v refrigerator with freezer (overhauled 2004), microwave, pressure water system, cooking fan for ventilation, overhead ventilation, many storage cabinets and drawers.

Navigation station to starboard.

Engine room to port with utility cupboards. Sound insulation to engine room, automatic and manual fire extinguishing.

Icom IC-707 single sideband radio (new Feb 2000) adapted for marine functions with Icom AT 130 aerial tuner (new 2004) with HV connection to insulated backstay.

SCS PTC-II Pro with Pactor 3 (new August 2004) with purpose made cables for connection to Icom SSB and computer. Allows communication by email (free to qualified HAM operators or by subscription to Sailmail), weather fax, Navtex, RTTY, etc.

Dynaplate grounding plate (new 2004) with 3” copper tape and copper sheet lining inside hull for RF grounding.

Standard Horizon ‘Quest’ panel mounted VHF radio (new 2004) with DSC linked to GPS with masthead mounted VHF aerial. Remote B&G pod mounted vhf deck speaker.

Electrical

Mains Power

Trace T240 120/240 volt transformer allowing mains connection to either standard European (220-240 volt 50 hertz) or US (120 volt 60 hertz) incoming power. Deck sockets and 60’ of 30 amp flexible power leads (US) or 60’ of 16 amp (240 volt).

Heart Interface ‘Freedom Marine’ Model 30 3000 watt inverter (new November 2002) providing up to 25 amps of power at 120 volts (60 hertz) to power outlets throughout vessel. Remote panel for inverter allows control of Charger, Inverter, Power Sharing, Battery Equalization, Incoming Shore Power Capacity (adjustable to avoid overloading shore power breaker).

Perkins 4108 (replaced 1987). Fresh water cooled with additional oil cooler. Approx 6,000 hours running time.

Autostream three bladed 18” dia. self feathering stainless steel propeller (new November 2004)

Transmission Borg Warner 71 hydraulic ‘Velvet Drive’ (rebuilt January 2005). 1” s/s shaft. Bronze stuffing box (new 2004)

Originally sloop rigged but modified to cutter with addition of roller staysail with special purpose made custom mast & deck fittings by Garhauer Marine (November 2004).

Single spreader, heavy gauge aluminum mast stepped on keel (new keel step December 2004) with double rope clutch (new 2004), cleats, and two Barient #21 halyard winches

Sails

130% genoa with foam luff and sunbrella UV strip (custom made new from Atlantic Sail Traders July 2002).

Mainsail (custom made by Atlantic Sail Traders June 1999) two full battens and two short battens with two slab reefs. Mainsail will need replacing after this season.

Heavy weather staysail jib (custom made by in New Zealand  December 2005) with sunbrella UV strip.

Air conditioning

2 Marinaire reverse cycle air-conditioning units installed for cooling and heating in main salon and rear stateroom. Controls include: System On, Compressor On; Temperature (heating or cooling) Thermostat; Fan Speed.

Nicro ‘day and night’ solar powered s/s vent (with nicad battery) (new 2006) in forward head

Beckson vent-o-mate stainless steel passive ventilators in salon, galley, aft head and aft cabin.

Permanently mounted 12v electric fans installed to salon, galley & aft stateroom.

Water Supply & Pumps

105 gallon fresh water tank beneath cabin floor.

Hot water tank with electric heating element and secondary coil with connection to engine cooling system (for hot water when engine running).

Watermaker

Spectra Catalina 300 MPC Watermaker produces 12 gallons per hour with a power consumption of only 16 amps (12v). System includes raw water strainer, high pressure feed pump, raw water filter # 1 - 5 micron, raw water filter # 2 - 20 micron, raw water filter # 3 - 50 micron, Clark pump with membranes, digital remote control panel at navigation station, fresh water flush module,  salinity probe, automatic valves, accumulator and pressure gauge, service kit & filters.

Domestic water pressure from Jabsco Sensor Max VSD variable speed sensor 12v pump with filter and accumulator.

Salt water deck wash down pump with Jabsco deck hose connection

Fridge sump pump (to remove water from bottom of fridge box – discharges below galley sink waste).

Bilge pumps – main Attwood heavy duty 2000 gallons per hour bilge pump with automatic float switch, relay and manual over-ride switch and warning light.

Anchor platform custom made polished ¼” x 2” stainless steel by Garhauer Marine with teak insert with rollers for two bower anchors.

Mast bars (new April 2005) - 1 ½” tubular stainless steel custom made by Garhauer Marine to port and starboard sides of mast  provide exceptional safety for reefing and raising/lowering mainsail.

Davits (new 2003), aft mounted easily removable stainless steel with 4 purchase double blocks & shackles.

Bow pulpit with rails, high (2’6” (780mm)) side stanchions with double lifelines (renewed 2003), access gates port and starboard with pelican release hooks; gate support with hinged 6’ s/s bathing ladder (all custom made by Garhauer Marine 2005) complete with stanchion mounted retaining bracket;

Steering

Pedestal wheel steering (chain, cable & quadrant) with emergency tiller. (Steering cables renewed January 2005).

Danforth Consellation 5” pedestal mounted main steering compass with binnacle, protective cover and red night time lighting.

Atoms wind steering (components currently removed for med sailing – all stored in vessel). System includes stern mounted bumpkin frame, Pendulum, Servo Rudder, mast, wind vein, blocks & wheel connection.

General
