A true classic from the pen of Bill Tripp and the yards of the Hinckley Company, the Bermuda 40 design has been around a long time and for good reason! With the easily handled yawl rig, full keel plus bronze centerboard and easy hull lines, the Bermuda 40 has remained not only very competitive, but very comfortable as well. 'Rascal' is a good example of the type, well loved by only four owners (the current owners have had 'Rascal' since 1987), she has sailed both the the West Coast and the East, throughout the Gulf Coast and the Bahamas too! Not 'just' a classic however, as 'Rascal' has been continuously upgraded throughout her life, and now features things like solar panels, a coachroof-mounted mainsheet traveler, bimini, Radar, GPS, autopilot, and a host of other modern conveniences. If you have always loved the elegant lines of a Hinckley, but were unable or unwilling to come up with the admittedly large sums necessary for a new version, I strongly suggest you give 'Rascal' a close look!
