Accommodations Layout: at the bow you find a retractable carbon bow sprit of 2m length and a below-deck furling system for the headsail in a self draining compartment. Next there is a sail compartment of 2m length including a watertight bulkhead. The owners bed, measuring 2m x 1.6m follows. To port there is a small area with a hanging locker and a place to sit; to starboard is a head with hot and cold water accessible from the owners stateroom and from the main cabin. The main salon features settees to port and starboard. Aft and to port follows an L-shaped galley with two sinks, a 3-burner stove with oven and a 160l refrigerator. To starboard is an L-shaped navigation station with central electrics, nav-electronics and a functional chart table. There is an aft cabin to starboard with a large quarter berth and hanging locker; to port a walk-in cockpit locker with a pipe berth. All the way aft are 2 cockpit lockers.
Performance refit 2005-2006
After 6 years of service with 15000 nm miles of fast cruising and some corinthian racing behind her, the boat went back to the chaps who built her for a real check-up including the following:
New keel consisting of a hollow stainless steel fin with a 20% trim tab and an AC-like lead bomb The hollow fin is used as an additional fuel tank, providing close to 200 liters of diesel now available with an expanded range of more than 450 nm under engine.
The result of the keel procedure is, thanks to a much more favourable weight distribution: around 1 m² less wetted surface the same righting moment the same depth but around 400 Kg less weight.
The boat got new agm-batteries with 400 Ah for service and 100 Ah for the engine. All technical systems got an honest revision. Even the chainplates were removed for revision.
Further planned modifications are a 75cm longer carbon boom and a square top mainsail which will add some 12-15 m² to the mainsail area. Up to 20sec/mile more performance is expected out of the boat, resulting in a realistic (sailable in corinthian style) GPH in the range of 540 sec/mile. |
