1900 105 Feet Schooner Baltic Trader

Description
As you may have realised from the quality of our other listings, we look long and hard for the best examples of the yachts and ships we list, but for overall quality of construction and fitout, I think I have to say the schooner 'Halmoe' is about the best I have ever come across! A classic Baltic Trader, 'Halmoe' (formerly 'Emmy') is now fitted out and licensed for the charter trade, though originally she was part of the commercial Scandinavian coastal cargo fleet. Her sailing rig is quite original and very typical of the larger designs (note the 'lug topsails'), as is the solid hull. But look a little closer and everywhere you look, there is that extra polish, that extra quality of fittings... And then you go below! The interior has to be seen to be truly appreciated, as even the wonderful photos you see here just don't do the ship justice (and we have more coming!). Even the famous 'Ring Andersen' can't boast of an interior like this! Continuous scheduled maintenance and care has ensured that 'Halmoe' is no museum piece, but a completely functional and elegant ship, ready now for charter work, that round the world voyage you have contemplated, sail training, or participation in any of the Tall Ships events. Halmoe is certified for 45 day passengers, and 15 (incl crew) for offshore/overnight passages.

A quick note about Baltic Traders: The basic Baltic Trader design in different sizes has been around for over 200 years, and was used throughout the Baltic and particularly Denmark as the basic coastal cargo ship. Heavily built, as is needed in the often rough seas of the Baltic and North Sea, each ship was generally owned and operated by a single family, who lived in the aft portion of the ship while the rest of the hold was reserved for cargo. With the end of the commercial sailing cargo trade, a number of these vessels have been converted and used for long range exploration, charter work, and round the world voyaging, as the combination of hull strength, emminent seaworthiness, and generous space below decks makes this type ideal for long-term cruising habitability and safety. I myself have seen these vessels in some very unlikely places in the Caribbean and elsewhere, and you can bet I haven't seen anywhere near all that are in fact at sea! Please have a look at the photos and full specifications to get an idea of just how magnificent a schooner 'Halmoe' really is! UPDATE: 06/25/08 MAJOR PRICE REDUCTION FROM 1,990,000 EUROS!!!
