| Description |
"Tern" is a fast racer/cruiser which easily sails in the mid to high-teens with frequent 20+ knot bursts. She is comfortable, and sails flat. Designed by Lock Crowther of Newport Australia, a Company which has been responsible for over 2500-multi-hull's being built since 1960. "Tern's" sleek lines and functional cabin (including a teak & holly sole) make her an excellent weekend competitor and/or comfortable live-aboard. The main living area is entered down several steps from the cockpit. Immediately to port is the navigational station. Forward of the nav station is the galley. The galley has a Hillrange LPG stove, double SS sink and cold box. Forward of the galley is a single berth. Adjacent to starboard are two double berths. The teak dinette table is forward of the galley with the seats folding down from either side of the companionway and everything is accented in a beautiful nautical motif. Moving forward through a bulkhead entrance is the porta-potti and sink to port. Forward to port is a large storage locker. There is a v-berth in the bow, and a sail locker is in the extreme bow. The cabin sole is teak and holly, and the interior cabin is finished white with a mahogany trim. Instrumentation includes: A compass, Icom VHF, Lowrance Global Map 1600 GPS, Robertson AP-200 Autopilot, Apelco Loran DXL 6350, apparent wind indicator, Dart Datamarine depth, speed and distance and an LPG gas detector.. The aluminum mast is stepped at the deck. There is a Pro-Furl roller furling, Harkin traveler, wire rigging, 2 25# Merriman & Holbrook winches and 2 40# self tailing winches. There is a locker aft of the cockpit which has a fold-down outboard (9.9 Yamaha 04) for power. Both outrigger pontoons are accessible through amidships hatches and can be used for storage although unfinished at this time; however, they could easily be converted into additional berths. Her sails consist of a new main, furling on genny, blooper and additional genny. This classic trimaran has been completely restored to better than original condition. The cockpit has a hardtop and excellent visibility with running rigging easily accessable. This beautiful vessel is one-of-a-kind, was Emeroned in 2002 and completely refurbished (she shows like new), also included in this package is a 12 Porta-Boat dinghy and a 4-HP Tohatsu Outboard 90. This is a must see for the serious racer/cruiser buyer.
