This custom built ketch is definetely one of the most beautiful yachts built in her class. She was presented and awarded as BOAT OF THE YEAR 1999 during the Dusseldorf Boatshow. Past three years she cruised roughly 20.000 Nm, so she's been thoroughly tested and proven to be a very steady and safe sailing yacht. She heels moderately in all winds and reaches upto 15 kn., wich is fast for her 26.5 metres waterline. “Dat Helja” is a world-cruising vessel with a high degree of comfort, capable of unrestricted voyaging with a confinement of six guests and crew of three.
Engine & driving A “Hundested” variable-pitch propeller, driven by a single 441 kW MAN diesel, intended to reduce hydrodynamic drag, whilst “Lewmar” bow and stern thrusters ensure superior maneuverability and dependability of operation.
Accommodations: Interior design was inspired by the owners and designed by an interior architet from Poland. Throughout the yacht classic mahagony is used, combined with white panels woodwork, a combination that has created a solemn, antique atmosphere. Down, a few steps from the main cockpit, “Dat Helja´s” saloon is highly comfortable on a yacht of this size, resulting from a conscious decision to retain broad wide decks and minimize the visual impact of the deckhouse when seen from outside. Containing a dining area to port and a settee to starboard, its size is more than adequate for the yacht´s complement of six guests. Forward from the saloon a central corridor is leading to the guest cabins and further to crew area. Guest cabins are well-proportioned twin beds, both incorporate tiled shower rooms, open to port and starboard whilst the attractive master stateroom occupies the full beam of “Dat Helja´s“ stern section. This stern cabin, with its mahogany woodwork complemented with white ceiling panels, oval headboard and settee, is particularly spacious, as is the adjacent marble trimmed bathroom, whose taps & fittings are all gold plated. The engine room is accessed through the main corridor, which connects the saloon with skipper´s & owner´s cabin. It is comfortable one for sailing yacht criteria.
