The 50/55 S embodies the characteristics of seaworthiness and security in combination with abundant space and payload for long distance voyaging. For close to 2 decades the yard has engineered Outremers as strong and swift vessels that have been proven through many ocean passages and numerous circumnavigations with not one single structural failure or major mishap. This fact seems close to a record in the production multihull community. The Outremer 50/55S low resistance hulls permit high average speeds, allowing the crew to actively avoid bad weather. Passage times are reduced thus minimizing exposure at sea. Low resistance hulls with centered weights, enhance on board comfort and contribute to a safe low pitch environment. The hulls of the Outremer 50/55 S are built in a monolithic construction process, thus eliminating any worries of damage by beaching.
Our first owner tells us he always skippered the boat and has used it as a charter and personal vessel. It is flagged in both Italy and the Dominican Republic. He has kept the boat well maintained. The Nanni Diesel engines were added new in 2004. Shafts, propellers and controls were also added new at the same time. Also in 2004, the boat was generally refitted and equipped with a new mainsail. The hulls were professionally spray painted, the old antifouling was removed, and a epoxy protection added. In the Spring of 2005, all the fabrics and curtains were newly changed.
This boat is comfortably equipped for blue water cruising, has a nice array of electronics, and is ready to sail!
