Westport Yachts opened initially in 1964 as a multi-vessel shipyard, including boats for commercial fishing and fast ferries. Westport now focuses solely on motoryacht construction and is the largest builder in North America. Westport believes strongly in the usage of composite materials to build the yachts; therefore, Westport yachts are fuel-economical, have reduced noise, have excellent thermal insulation, and are non-corrosive. Before building, Westport is committed to thoroughly designing the yachts, warranting that the first-pass build is successful. Westport owns three shipyards: the original in Westport, Washington, one in Hoquiam, and a third yard to develop their largest yacht. Tri-deck and raised pilothouse are the styles of the current yachts, in sizes from 98 feet to 164 feet in length.
