1960 Barbour Silver Clipper Deluxe 17' wooden runabout. Wow! is the word that describes this professionally restored classic purchased in Sep. 2011 by current owner. The 1962 Mercury "Merc 700" 70HP outboard runs perfectly! This classic wooden boat is a lovely testament to the rich wooden boating history of North Carolina and Barbour Boat Works in New Bern. Winner of "Best Classic Outboard" in 2012 at the 38th Annual Wooden Boat Show in Beaufort, NC. The E-Z Loader boat trailer was purchased new in Sep 2013. She comes all ready to enjoy -- all you need to do is gas her up and go! Accessories include: • 4 Brand-new Personal Flotation Devices • Brand new UNIDEN Handheld Floating Two-Way VHF Marine Radio • Custom seat cushions • Sunbrella mooring cover • Flares, horn, boat hook, anchor and more • 12 gallon fuel tank (modified from original 6 gallon tank) • Two electric bilge pumps, cigarette lighter/map light, fuel gauge, speedometer and compass This classic wooden boat has been stored inside since purchase and serviced twice yearly. She's a head turner! ,The hull sides are the original Spanish cedar it was built with in 1960. On the painted side of the hull the two varnished shear strakes are new and they are Philippine mahogany. The decks and transom are new and are made of okume plywood which is very high grade marine plywood with a similar appearance to mahogany. The bottom is entirely new and is framed in white oak and skinned with marine fir plywood as original. The bottom was sheathed with Dynel (2 layers) using west system epoxy for the resin.
