1954 Custom 32

The design of this vessel evokes the look of adowneaster with the functionality of a pilot house and the utility of a sport fisher. This is a one owner yacht who has decided to move on from "his baby."
A William Garden design, the boat is constructed of 1 1/8" Cedar planks on Oak frames 1 3/8' X 3" frames. The stringers are 1 5/8" X 3" Fir. Built on 9" centers. The boat was built by Portland Shipyard, Portland, OR.
The cockpit is utilitarian with ample space for storage of rods and gear. There is a frame work currently covered with a plastic tarp which could easily accommodate a canvas sun shade. The mast is centered on the house and folds down for storage in a house. The ladder to the upper helm is to starboard, companion way door is center.
Upon entering the house a dinette is to port, and a large head with a shower is to starboard. The Galley is just forward of the head and sports a large diesel stove/oven combination which seconds as a cabin heater. The lower helm station is on the port side and a large V berth is forward.
Stepping up to the upper helm/fly bridge you will find engine and helm control. On either side of the helm seat are passenger seats which can fold out for sunning.
The engine space is very well vented and the owner has installed fans to continually push air through the bilge to vent the space.
