The “Myrtle Mae” is without question, one of the finest Down East Cruiser you will find built from a Holland Hull.  With the keel laid in 1999 by Glen Holland Boat Shop, she was completed in Sept 2000 by Bruce Cunningham, Padebco Custom Yachts. She is a perfect “10” by anyone’s standards with absolutely no expense spared in the build. A single owner boat, the “Myrtle Mae” has never been fished and looks more beautiful than the day she was launched.

Powered by a single mechanical Scania DS19 450hp engine and a 2-speed ZF transmission, can give the Myrtle Mae a cruising speed of 15 Knots at 1750 RPM’s burning 15 GPH. Back her down to 8 Knots and it burns only about 4 GPH, the Myrtle Mae is configured into the perfect Down East Cruiser.

Recent upgrades include: New Furuno TZT 14 display and radar (2014), Robertson autopilot (2014), repainted hull and topside (2013), new Diamond Sea Glaze windows, new upholstery and custom pipe welders frame work and awning (2012).

Maintenance has been phenomenal and includes: Bottom soda blasted, primed and painted (2015), new turbo assembly (2015), replaced heat exchanger (2013) and cooler assembly (2014). All engine work was completed by Certified Diesel Corp., the dealer and distributor for Scania Engines.

Owner is ready to turn over the Myrtle Mae to the next owner who appreciates the quality and craftsmanship that has gone into her!

History of Holland Boat Shop

It all began in 1972.  Glenn Holland bought an unfinished Repco hull and finished it in a temporary building he erected on his parent's front lawn.  In 1973 he decided that he should have his own hull and the Holland 30 was born.  A few hulls were built and then there was a fire where the molds had been stored.  Needing a new mold, Glenn partnered with Royal Lowell and they came up with the design for the now legendary, Holland 32.  That boat went into production in 1978.  In 1986 the first Holland 38 was built.  Wanting something smaller to play with, in 1994 the Holland 14 was introduced to the family. Holland Boat Shop is the builder of the world famous lobster boat, the “Red Baron”

Holland hulls are “Downeast” all the way: traditional round-bilge designs with a sharp entry forward that turns flat aft. The formula was developed for and proven by Maine’s working lobstermen, and it’s been adopted by any number of yachtsmen. That’s because it just plain works: it’s a shape that is strong and easily driven, and that provides a sea-kindly ride.

Vessel Walkthrough

Stepping onto the “Myrtle Mae” you can see from the expansive cockpit why she made such a great lobster yacht! Plenty of room to entertain in style and under the comfort of the custom awning and framework. There is a huge amount of storage on both sides, under the deck, and also in the transom.  The dropdown transom door makes it also a great platform for diving.

Stepping through the teak door you will walk into the air conditioned salon and find the galley to port along with the companion seating.  To Starboard is the Stidd captains seat with a beautiful leather sofa behind.  Under the teak and holly sole is the engine compartment with plenty of room to work.

Down three steps into the forward cabin is a single berth to port with plenty of storage around and under and a built in chest of drawers forward. The head is to starboard with a separate stall shower and a large closet with more storage below.  Forward is the V-berth, and with plenty of windows to allow light throughout the cabin.
