QUEEN MAB is offered for sale and is an example of one of the Hinckley Company’s most timeless designs.  A Sparkman and Stephens design, she is a classic 4-berth sloop with a low-hour 1991 Westerbeke 35B engine.  Professionally maintained varnish, beautiful hull and deck.


QUEEN MAB is a 1968 Hinckley Pilot 35 Sloop with a 4-berth vanished mahogany interior that has been continuously upgraded and professionally maintained throughout her lifetime.  A long list of these improvements is available.

  • Hand laid fiberglass hull with 6” horizontal flange to receive deck. Fiberglass deck is cored with end grain balsa and is bolted and fiberglassed into this hull flange.

  • Stainless steel stemhead with integral chocks, bow and stern pulpits and stanchions with single lifelines and gates.

From the forward cockpit, entry into the interior accommodations is through the companionway hatch into the aft Main Cabin area.  The companionway steps are movable for access to the engine area behind.

LAYOUT PLAN features the 4-Berth layout and includes:  

  • MAIN CABIN - Galley and Nav Areas aft, with Main Salon forward.
  • HEAD - Forward to port.
  • HANGING LOCKER – Forward to starboard.

The bright comfortable Interior is finished in varnished mahogany and a varnished teak and holly sole.

Interior Walkthrough:

  • Forward Cabin - V-berth with outboard shelves, lockers underneath, a small changing seat with storage below, and access to the hanging locker.  The forward cabin has portholes to port and starboard, along with the traditional Hinckley-style forward-looking porthole, and a large hatch with screen. 
  • Head Area - Next aft is the Head to port and hanging locker to starboard.  Formica countertop with stainless steel sink and hot and cold pressure water with shower.  The Raritan PH II head is plumbed to a holding tank with y-valve and macerator pump system.  There is storage outboard.  Ventilation is through a dorade cowl vent and an opening port with integral screen.
  • Main Salon - Deep port and starboard settee/berths, a large bulkhead fold-fold teak dining table, and generous lockers and shelves port and starboard.  Custom varnished teak bookshelves forward.
  • Galley Area – is last aft, with a large ice box, hot and cold pressure water high neck faucet and a hand-pumpat stainless steel sink, and athree-burner gimbaled propane stove with oven.  White Formica countertop with dry food and pots/pans storage below and additional storage for dishes outboard.
  • Navigation Area  – Separate locker over for navigational charts is convenient to the cockpit and located above the ice box to starboard, which serves as a large navigation area while underway.  There is a chart light over for nighttime navigation. Aft are the electrical and systems panels. A custom swing-out electronics display mount allows access from both the nav station and the cockpit.
