Finesse only had three owners and was previously named Pippa, who was owned by JP Morgan’s great granddaughter and berthed in Northeast Harbor ME. Under her current ownership of 32 years, she has been substantially refitted. She has a comfortable turn of speed and turns head in every harbor she’s graced in the Eastern seaboard from Mount Dessert Island ME to the Exumas in the Bahamas.

Introduced in 1967 the first Swan 36 was delivered to British sailor Dave Johnson, whose racing success gave her a reputation as the scourge of the Solent in her heydays. With a modified full keel, spade rudder, moderately long overhangs and deep bilge, the Swan 36 was a crossover design combining classic and the new generation tumblehome hull with diamond shaped plan profile seen in new RORC racing yachts of that era. Although Finesse was only raced socially, her lineage has a strong successful racing history.
