(LOCATION: Fort Lauderdale FL) This Cape George 31 is a blue water cutter, heavy displacement full  keel, and Kubota diesel engine. Designed for long distance cruising Mahalo has cruised both coasts of the United States and the Bahamas.

A testimonial to the quality of the Cape George yachts is that a chapter of Ferenc Mate's book 'Best Boats to Build or Buy' is dedicated to these boats. Chapter 17, 'The Master Builders, The Cape George Yachts', describes the detail and construction of these finely crafted boats.

The walkaround deck has 6’ bowsprit with dual rollers, 35# CQR, and #33 Lewmar claw, both with chain. The cabin roof is home to a 9.5’ Achilles inflatable with 6-hp Yamaha motor. The aft cockpit is weather protected with a bimini top and dodger. Hank on sails include main, yankee jib, staysail, trysail, and light wind jib.

The roomy interior features contrasting white bulkheads and teak woodwork. Galley is aft and includes: propane range with oven & broiler, Adler Barbour Super refrigeration that will make ice, storage cabinets and drawers, and solid surface countertop. The salon features a dinette with 77" settees that provide two single berths when needed. The forward cabin has large V-berth and storage. Storage is ample throughout this 31 footer with a place for everything you need for any length cruise. A 110v portable air conditioner maintains interior comfort while dockside.

Mahalo features a 35-hp Kubota Nanni diesel engine. Electrical includes: two banks of Trojan golf cart batteries, inverter, and assorted solar panels. She is uniquely outfitted to maximize engine battery life through equipment selection and use of solar panels. Four days at anchor without solar panels, longer with the panels. Electronics include: Standard VHF radio, handheld VHF radio, Icom ham radio, Furuno GPS, handheld GPS, Maxxima AM/FM radio, autopilot, and speed/depth meter.
