Legendary Potter Hull!! Volvo Penta Diesel!!

1976 Seacraft 23 Sceptre

I personally had the pleasure of photographing and shooting the video for the vessel.

Seller is the 3rd owner, moved out of state and can't take her with him so she needs to go.

The classic "Potter built" Seacraft's are known for their handling in rough seas, producing a much smoother ride that you would normally only find in a much larger vessel. Still to this day they are sought after by commercial fisherman and pleasure boaters alike.

Walking around the vessel I didn't notice any major flaws. Hull looks to be in good order, could use some bottom paint but so could most. Volvo Penta 280 outdrive looked to be in good condition, shows so wear but put a coat of paint on it and it would probably look like new.

Vessel sits on a 2006 Continental aluminum dual-axle trailer. Trailer looked to be in great shape and ready to roll.

Stepping onboard starting aft at the transom you have a livewell to starboard and baitwell to port. Nice under gunwale mounted cleats are a big boat feature but really clean up the rails.

Lift the engine cover and you see the 2002 Volvo Penta AQ41 200hp Diesel. Seller estimates the hours at 500-600, states she runs great. Per the seller at 1100 RPM (8 knots) you get 20 miles per gallon so she is very efficient. Hammer the throttle and she will top out around 25 knots.

Moving forward you notice the Fiberglass hardtop, seemed very solid. All gauges at the helm per the seller work and flip up bolster seats for captain and mate. From the transom to the helm seems much bigger than a 23'. Small cuddy cabin had nice cushions and looked to be in good condition.

Vessel also includes a full Eisenglass enclosure, nice custom touch to keep the weather out and the day going.

Overall you have a classic Potter hull, in good condition, powered right and ready for her next voyage.

ConditionBoat could use some new bottom paint if you're going to keep the boat in the water, if not then no need.

New Freshwater Flush system installed along with a full Eisenglass enclosure.

No major problems that I could see, could use some minor cleaning up but overall very nice boat.
