The owner of the "Contrarian" has had an open checkbook policy over the years with continued upgrades including having new engines installed in 2003 with DDC/MTU 2000 Engines. The Contrarian was completely painted with Awlgrip in 2008. This yacht is only one of a few built with a 23.6 ft. beam, most other Browards have no more than a 20 ft. beam. This wide beam allows for large deck spaces and huge interior volume with four staterooms. The generous over sized salon windows offer spectacular views. She also has a Euro Transom replete with a passerelle for Mediterranean style docking or for use with floating docks.

Total Power: 1185

Fuel: 9800
Fresh Water: 1030

"Contrarian" sleeps nine owner's and guests in four elegant staterooms. The master stateroom is full beam with king size bed on center line and has two large cedar lined walk in closets. The VIP has a king size bed also. One guest stateroom has a queen size bed and the other guest stateroom has twin berths with a pullman. Flat screen TV's abound throughout this yacht. She has a spacious Flybridge with lounge areas on the port and starboard side for sunning and entertaining. The aft deck features a large settee table with chairs and can seat eight comfortably for al fresco dining! Crew quarters for five are separate and well forward in the yacht.

Main Salon

The main salon is entered from the aft deck through large sliding glass door. Here you have a wet bar to port and a round customized glass table with accented lighting and chairs to starboard. The salon has very large windows for great views while you cruise and at the dock. Since the yacht has covered walkways on either side of the salon, the windows are protected from the strong sun and the window shades do not need to be down to block the sun. The carpet is plush and sculpted and the beautiful burl wood finishes gives the yacht a warm feel. The headliners were recently made new. There is a large sectional sofa to port and two chairs with ottomans to starboard. The entertainment center is forward which is enclosed in the beautiful burl cabinet. A day head for convenience is located just forward of the main salon.

Dining Salon

Moving forward past the raised pilot house, you enter the dining salon which features a large high/low granite top table with large settee and chairs. The design of the dining salon is multi functional. Instead of the common individual chairs around a table, this setup has a settee to one side and larger occasional chairs on the other. The table can be lowered to make an oversized coffee table with a flat screen television to the other side. The wood burl cabinetry, with granitite countertops, can be used for housing the storage of china, crystal, and flatware. The dining salon can not only be used for elegant dining but can be used as an additional television entertaining area.

From the dining salon forward you have the galley with a small breakfast bar to starboard. The galley is equipped with an oversized Sub-zero refrigerator/freezer with extra large doors, G.E. stove/cooktop, G.E. Microwave and Kitchen-Aid dishwasher. The galley has been designed to keep the dining area private but with ample room for crew to prepare meals.

Master Stateroom

The master stateroom is full width suite which features a king size bed with built-in night stands. Some yachts are designed with his and hers bathrooms; but this yacht was designed to have a very large common bath with marble floors and counter tops, a head and bidet, and a Jacuzzi bath. This gives room for his and hers oversize walk-in cedar closets; one of them large enough that the current owner used one as an exercise room.

There are two large walk-in cedar lined closets. There is a flat screen television and entertainment center forward for easy television viewing from the king sized bed. Large dressers are to port and starboard. Enter the huge bathroom from starboard and you have marble sink countertop and marble flooring. There is a jacuzzi tub/shower with head and bidet.

Guest Stateroom Area

Moving forward from the master stateroom you enter the guest stateroom area with the twin guest stateroom to the port side. This stateroom also has a Pullman berth used for occasions when you have extended family or friends. The twin beds share a large nightstand with drawers. Both beds have drawers underneath for easy storage. There is a very large hanging locker with plenty of space for all. A flatscreen T.V. with entertainment center is built in for easy viewing. The ensuite bathroom is brightened by the off white countertop and tiled flooring. On the starboard side forward, in the lower foyer, there is a washer and dryer which makes it much more convenient for the crew to get the owners/guests laundry done more efficiently.

The VIP stateroom is located just forward from here on the starboard side. Unlike most other Broward yachts that have a queen size bed in the VIP this one boasts a King size bed. The bed is joined by two large night stands. The large port lights bring in lots of natural light. There are curtains that drop down from behind the valance. This VIP features a very large cedar lined walk-in closet. There is a flat screen T.V. with entertainment center that can be viewed comfortably from the massive bed. This room also has a desk/vanity with a stool to sit comfortably. The ensuite bathroom is light in color and has a very large shower stall.

Across from the VIP and on the port side is the last of the guest staterooms and it features a queen size bed with built-in night stands and drawers underneath for lots of easy storage. This warm stateroom has a very large hanging locker that is almost the size of a walk-in closet. From the comfortable bed, one can view the flatscreen T.V. There is a desk/vanity with a comfortable stool that hides away. The ensuite bathroom offers a large shower and brightness from the off white countertop and tiled flooring.

Crew Quarters

The crew quarters is located forward and can accommodate five. There is a large Captain's berth all the way forward and two cabins aft; one on the port side and one on the starboard side with head and shower.

Raised Pilothouse

The raised pilothouse is finished in green leather and has a settee with table to the port side for comfortable seating. There is a helm chair here and a sophisticated navigation system which features a Transas Plotter.

The flybridge is a great area for sunning and casual entertaining. There is a staircase from the starboard side main aft deck that accesses the flybridge and there is also access to the forward area of the flybridge from the pilot house. Just forward from where the tender, life rafts and wave runners are stowed, you have a large table to the port side for casual dining. There is a wet bar with refrigerator, ice maker and grill area. To the starboard side, you have the three-person chaises with adjustable backs. There is also a very generous sized settee that is upholstered in beautiful striping.

This is the first time that the "Contrarian" has been introduced to the market place. She has been owned now by the present owner for twelve years and he has kept her meticulously maintained. This yacht has very large interior and exterior spaces and would make not only a great private yacht but she would also do very well as a charter yacht.
