1981 Magnum Marine 1981/ 2010 Offshore Fishing Boat
** SOLD **
This custom Magnum with Kevlar hull started as a typical express and was rebuilt into an incredible fishing machine with raised helm and marlin tower. The foredeck was raised to give the interior more headroom and the entire boat was painted by well known Luu Marine in Fort Lauderdale. The engines were replaced with used MAN 850 HP V-10's. This is an incomplete project that needs finishing. Owner's health requires sale now, all offers considered.
This project started with a stock 53' Magnum. The interior was removed along with engines and everything else to start over fresh, but with the famous high performance Kevlar hull built by Magnum as the base. The project was a concept by an experienced yachtsman who had owned many boats and yachts over the years and wanted the challenge of this redesign and rebuild into an express fisherman with marlin tower.
The center console style walk around helm is a few steps up from the cockpit and set aft for a good view of activity in the cockpit, but high enough to see in front of the boat. Bench seating to either side plus another seat right in front of the helm gives plenty of seating for family or fishermen. Two separate adjusting helm seats for skipper and mate are on a platform with folding footrest.
A stainless ladder leads to the marlin tower that also has a center console style helm station with bench seating and hardtop overhead with electronics box and rocket launchers.
The cockpit has a transom door and a baitwell. Engine room access is from the cockpit.
The engine room is stand up with full access to all sides of the MAN 840 hp V-10 engines. Completely new twin 450 gallon aluminum fuel tanks and new fuel filters are in place along with a 100 gallon center tank for 1000 gallon fuel capacity. Completely new exhaust system has been installed. Not installed but included are some air conditioning units. The hydraulic steering is new, propellers have been reconditioned and the rudders are new.
One Westerbeke and one Northern Lights generator are in the engine room but not installed.
The interior is bare except full bulkheads with a proposed head forward, then master stateroom and then salon and galley. There are two toilets on board along with portholes, electric panels, light fixtures, doors and more, but not installed.
