"Introduced in 1984, the 3227 Convertible became one of Carver's best-selling boats in the 1980s thanks to an affordable price and a very innovative floor-plan."

Like most Carvers of her era, the 3227 was built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide beam, relatively high freeboard, and very little transom deadrise.

Her conservative profile masks what was once considered a very unusual cabin layout. Where most convertibles have the engine room under the salon floor, in the 32 the engines are farther aft, under the cockpit sole. This allowed Carver designers to insert a rather spacious mid cabin under the dinette, accessed from the galley, with a double berth and a large hanging locker. With that, the Carver 3227 is an honest two-stateroom boat--rare in any 32-footer.

There's a full-size refrigerator in the galley, and a stall shower is included in the head.

Two lift-out hatches in the cockpit sole provide good service access to the engines.

Additional features include.....
- A/C (Portable)
- transom door
- swim platform
- flybridge seating for five
- bow pulpit.

The Air Conditioner unit is PORTABLE, as follows.........

Soleus Air portable Model PE3-12R-03 (8,000 BTU's)

A hard ride in a chop, Crusader 270hp V-drive gas engines cruise the Carver 3227 Convertible at 17 knots and reach a top speed of 26-27 knots.

Note that she was called the 330 Convertible in 1993.

This particular Carver Convertible 32' Sedan with an enclosed fly bridge that comfortably seats five and lets you combine family cruising with fishing! It's large 60 sq. ft. cockpit holds plenty of fishing gear and features a convenient transom door for boarding.

This dual station model includes radar, gps, vhf, depth finder and an AM/FM stereo.

Living accommodations include two private staterooms, salon with wet bar and convertible dinette and lounge tables. The galley is fully equipped with a full size Norcold refrigerator, electric range/oven and a microwave. The head compartment has a separate stall shower.

All the comforts of home.

ConditionThis local representative stepped aboard to inspect and photograph this cruiser on October 27, 2015.

Her overall condition is judged to be above average with normal wear and tear for age.

Of particular importance, the starboard Crusader engine was REPLACED NEW in 2009.

Per the seller.... "Since my husband passed away 8 years ago, it has only left the dock once or twice each summer....I found the inspection report from 4/11/97 when we purchased it and the hours at that time in total were 234."

Add to that the hour meter reading (image 179) for a total of 639.5 hours on the port engine. The replaced starboard engine of course has 405.5 hours.

The Dinette cushions have no tears whatsoever, but a leaky fountain pen has made some minor blue marks (please see images).

Her twin 270 HP Crusaders are fresh water cooled and will cruise at 17 and reach a top speed in the mid 20's.

This is a well kept family cruiser that has had the same owner for 18 years. Strong and stable with a smooth ride.
