A 1991 Lydia/T&D beautifully transformed in a keel up refit by Rybovich craftsman with an interior to Palm Beach standard. Meticulously matched teak on all-new cabinetry in a Hinckley style with a picnic boat appeal. New mechanicals cruise Candida comfortably at 26 knots with a top end of 30. This aptly designated “Lydiavich” is tournament ready and also perfect for the cruising family who “also likes to fish”. You will be hard-pressed to locate another yacht of this caliber, in this condition (10+) and at this price.

CANDIDA was built by Lydia Boats, Inc. of Ft. Pierce, FL, one the world's finest builders of mid-to-large custom yachts.  Lydia yachts are particularly well known for their heavy-duty hulls made from a 5 ½” thick sandwiched fiberglass / AREX core design which provides unparalleled performance in the harsh environment regularly experienced by tournament anglers. CANDIDA was re-powered with twin MTU 12V183 turbo charged engines that develop a total of 2500 hp providing a top end speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 26 knots.

Wanting the benefit of the Lydia hull and the MTU engines, the owner purchased CANDIDA in late 2003 and commenced a total refit and renovation during the 2004-2006 period. Former Rybovich craftsman were hired to replace every mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system. From the tower down, including the entire bridge and helm areas, cockpit, interior salon, staterooms, and all electronics - literally every square inch of CANDIDA was either replaced or rebuilt. The result is a very unique custom-built “Lydiavich” sportfish yacht having one of the industry’s strongest hulls, the finest engines all combined with exquisite “yacht quality” workmanship throughout.

CANDIDA has beautiful lines with large custom teak toe rails and a traditional “flag blue” navy hull with distinctive yellow boot stripe and white super structure (Dupont Imron paint). A fully appointed enclosed air conditioned bridge area and custom “Rybovich” style helm keep you dry and protected from weather and spray and provide outstanding visibility from the centerline helm making her as easy to maneuver offshore as in a crowded marina.

The interior is amazing! Every piece of teak was hand-picked and perfectly matched and finished in a high gloss varnish.  Teak and holly flooring with light cream-colored baby ostrich wall covering and an off-white colored “Whisper” header was utilized throughout the yacht and provide a luxurious and spacious feeling. Multi-zoned LED lighting with dimmer control panels are found though out the yacht including rope lighting under cabinets and incandescent plunged controlled lighting throughout the closet and inside cabinet areas.

The salon features two seating areas, one "L-shaped" sofa to port and another sofa to starboard, both covered in a cream-colored ostrich fabric and all with ample stowage below the hinged seating. An elaborate entertainment center includes a large Sharp AQUOS LCD TV combined with a Bose System 50 surround stereo, Sony DVD / VCR, and wireless / mouse to access CANDIDA’S computer network. A SpeakerCraft multi-zone amplifier controller system combined with three distinct satellite TV receivers and various iPod stations were utilized to provide six separate zones of audio / video on any of the five LCD TVs found within the yacht.

The galley is located to the starboard and is spacious and accommodating with beautifully crafted and matched teak cabinets and “jaguar” granite counter tops and teak keepers. Appliances include a four-burner electric range top, twin refrigerators, large stainless sink, disposal, and trash compactor.

Step down under the hand-crafted compass rose into the lower level where the staterooms are located. CANDIDA comfortably sleeps six with its three stateroom / two head arrangement. The owner's stateroom and head are to the starboard, the VIP stateroom and guest head are forward, and the guest cabin is to the port.

The owner's stateroom is most impressive with custom teak cabinetry. Included are a large queen-size berth with stowage below, full-size cedar-lined hanging locker and mirrored vanity provide plenty of stowage. A private stereo featuring an LCD TV with DVD player, iPod station, and Bose in-wall speakers as well as zoned lighting and air conditioning provide all the creature comforts. A private head features teak cabinets, Corian countertops with stainless Danze fixtures, a large shower stall with seat and teak cabinet, rope lighting and fresh water HeadHunter toilet.

The VIP Stateroom is forward and is as elegant and distinctive as the owner’s stateroom. It also features a large a large queen birth, reading lamps, bookcase, private stereo / TV system, zoned lighting and air conditioning. Ample storage is provided within the many cedar-lined cabinets, drawers, and hanging closet.

The VIP / Guest Head features a stand-up full size shower with seat, Corian countertops, large mirrored vanity cabinet, zoned and rope lighting, Danze fixtures, and fresh water HeadHunter head. The Guest Stateroom has upper and lower bunks with two sets of reading lamps, large teak keepers, a cedar-lined closet and drawers below the birth, bookcases and private stereo / LCD TV system. A Splendide combo washer / dryer is located in the guest cabin.

CANDIDA has a large fully enclosed and air conditioned bridge which is especially comfortable while cruising and well equipped for fishing. A custom teak wet bar cabinet houses a U-Line refrigerator / icemaker. Forward seating arrangement is plentiful with stowage below the seats and a fold-out latticed teak picnic table with drink holders and stowage behind is provided. Electronics are logically laid-out between a custom teak “Rybovich style” helm with pop-up electronics panel and full-length side cabinets. Included are state of the art 10” Garmin 7212 touch-screen and Furuno 1953C for radar / chart plotter and depth, an Apple Mac Mini computer loaded with the Nobeltec navigation system. Dual white Murray Bros. helm chairs combined with overhead hand-rails, and non-skid surface assure comfort and safety.

A large cockpit with 200 square feet of space, fighting chair platform, heavy teak flooring, covering and combing boards, fresh and saltwater washdown hubs, recessed Murray Bros. rod holders, tackle station with wet bar, drink box / bait freezer, separate four speaker stereo with iPod station, multiple floor and side cabinet storage, and transom door provide all you need to fish seriously. Additionally, a large custom made folding Bimini top, mister system, four underwater lights, A/C electrical and deep drop outlets are provided for.

Access the engine room from the cockpit area where an ideal engine room provides space to service and access everything. CANDIDA has an 1,800 gallon fuel capacity providing nearly a 1,000 mile range. The engines have 650 hours and have had an “easy life” for this type of boat. Engine service has been performed by Palm Beach Power and all records are available. Included are engine warming “blankets”, fuel primer and oil change systems, Phasor generator, 30 gallon hot water heater, 400 gpd water maker, and several storage racks and cabinets.

CANDIDA is a beautiful example of one of the finest custom sportfish yachts ever designed. She has been well appointed with the very best of everything and has been maintained and cared for to the highest possible standards by her very knowledgeable owner and his professional staff.

The bottom line is that she is in pristine condition, is virtually brand new, and a very unique custom sportfish yacht that will provide you a sense of pride, and one of the most stable, vibration free, and thoroughly safe rides in the industry!
