ConditionA brief history, as I understand it. AT EASE has had three owners. The first sailed the West Coast. The second was a family of four who sailed from California through the Panama Canal and up the East Coast, ending up in Houston, TX where I purchased the boat in 1995. Rechristened AT EASE, we sailed the boat from 1995-2000 on Lake DeGray in Arkansas. At my retirement in 2000, we trucked her to Biloxi, MS where we had a yard period while she was outfitted for off shore cruising. Departing that year, my wife and I cruised the East Coast, the Bahamas, the East Coast again (as far north as Newport, RI), and then back into the Gulf. During hurricane season in 2003 we went inland some 1000 miles on the Tombigbee system to the Ohio River, returning to our new home port of Ocean Springs, MS. In late 2003 we departed for an extended cruise into the Bahamas, thence to the Windward and Leeward Islands down to Trinidad and Tobago, returning in the spring of 2005. During these voyages we covered some 10,000 miles. Our sailing since has been relatively local to the MS/AL/West FL coastal areas. AT EASE has had several major upgrades. When we departed in 2000, we added components to enhance our ability to cruise independently. This included a Monitor self-steering vane (since removed), a hard dodger and new canvas, a KISS wind generator and solar panels. In 2003 AT EASE had a lightning strike that resulted in most of the sophisticated electronics being replaced with new units. The marine transmission was rebuilt in late 2003 or early 2004 at Robovitch Spencer in West Palm Beach, FL. We had the diesel rebuilt in 2004 in St Maartens. In Trinidad, in 2004, I also upgraded our watermaker to an Eco-Tec 6 GPH system that really made us largely independent in a cruising routine that probably didn't involve more than 30 days in marinas over our some 10,000 NM of travel. In 2005, during Hurricane Katrina, AT EASE experienced cosmetic damage (gouges and abrasion to fiberglass and teak), bent SS railing, etc. That led to new teak work on cap and rubrails and fiberglass repair. AT that time, the hull and cabin were repainted. We have since had a full cockpit enclosure added. This enclosure allows full functionality while sailing or motoring and, with the Force Ten heater in the main salon, makes AT EASE a true year round boat. The last yard period (2015) included bottom paint, servicing/cycling of thru hulls, new zincs. AT EASE is not only a safe, blue water cruiser, she is a very comfortable boat, with a spacious interior for a 36' boat. She is well laid out for single handed sailing and a pleasant home for a couple. There is extraordinary storage capacity, most ventilated and all dry. There is ample storage for up to six months of food and spares. The large refrigerator manages cold storage and, next to or in the cold box, freezer capability. Upright ice trays encourage those cool sundowner drinks. The galley is well laid out for meal preparation at anchorage or underway. The galley sinks are generally midship and not adversely effected by a heeled boat under sail. The Pullman berth is comfortable, even underway, and spacious. The two salon settees and the aft (starboard) cabin provide additional sleeping accommodations for up to four. AT EASE is well ventilated with four low voltage electric fans, two cabin top hatches and three Dorades. With the addition of custom Sunbrella hatch wind scoops, we rarely felt too warm even deep into the tropics. We do have a detailed maintenance log that is available for review.
