1979 Grand Banks 36
1979 Grand Banks 36 Classic. Pilar is an excellent example of the classic 36' Grand Banks Trawler. She has twin Lehman-Ford Diesel engines and a 7.5 KW Westerbeke generator. Both motors and generator have been recently serviced and are in excellent mechanical condition. The engines have less than 2000 hours of trouble free operation and the generator has around 4000 hours. The boat has all of the usual equipment: GPS, Loral C, 3 radios, Furuno Radar, Robertson AP, refrigerator, TV, Stereo, top side freezer, stove with oven, grill, microwave, all teak cabinets/joinery, teak parquet floors, master stateroom aft with separate double and twin berth, forward V-berth, plenty of storage, indoor and outdoor showers, forward and aft heads, Dyer Dhow dinghy with brand new 2.5 HP Mercury outboard, etc. Pilar has spent most of her life in Connecticut where she was only in the water for 6 or 7 months of the year which explains the low engine hours. I brought her down the East coast, across the Okeechobee Waterway and then across the Gulf from Tampa to New Orleans 7 years ago. She has been berthed on Lake Pontchartrain since. I had her hauled with fresh bottom paint and new zincs applied last week along with a survey performed which revealed no problems. My mechanic has just gone over all systems and changed the filters and fluids in all three engines. He also put in a new battery charger, 3 new batteries and replaced both throttle cables. Pilar is a great, seaworthy boat and the only reason I am pricing her well below market value is because I simply don't have the time to use her as much as she needs. I have been taking her out for an hour or so every 2 weeks for the past year to keep all systems in good running order. You will not find a better boat on the market today for anything like this price.
